Yjogols YWeb uses a feature that disables the remote during the YWeb Usage (YWeb = webintefaced based TV)

Maybe something simple as that could prevent of any user entry via remote

You can also send a message to the TV screen of the box or even control the LCD Display and show a Information on it that GBPvr is running..

The ideas are endless and most of them is done via http commands ;-)

LCD Example:

Code:
#!/bin/sh
## Lock LCD
wget -q -Y off -O /dev/null "http://localhost/control/lcd?lock=1&clear=1"
## Send to LCD
wget -q -Y off -O /dev/null "http://localhost/control/lcd?xpos=15&ypos=55&size=25&font=2&text=GBPvr Active"
wget -q -Y off -O /dev/null "http://localhost/control/lcd?update=1"
wget -q -Y off -O /dev/null "http://localhost/control/lcd?clear=1"
##
done
## Clear LCD
rm /tmp/lcd.stop
wget -q -Y off -O /dev/null "http://localhost/control/lcd?lock=0&clear=1&update=1"

Yes I know, there are many things possible. But I'm quite happy with the recording mode, as it is also indicated in the lcd by the blinking clock.

Sorry I haven't had the chance to look at this tonight as it was my son's 2nd birthday so we had family round.

However, I showed off my new toy, which was probably a bad thing because it went pear shaped! Big Grin

I had Bad Girls on (my parents like it) and I paused it. The program ended and it was maybe 30 minutes after that when I pressed play. (Just after the program finished I could have sworn the recording bar was completely green). About 20 minutes into watching it the playback broke up and the recording bar showed that there was no further footage (not red or green just transparent).

Firstly is this correct? Is this a known issue? Also what happens when you pause live TV and the next program starts? Does it record until the HDD on the PC becomes full?

What about if you're watching a program that it's saved in memory and you want to start saving it to store on the HDD. If you press record does that include the beginning of that program as well?

Finally how far in the past does it automatically save? Normal PVR's are usually 30 minutes.

Just about to leave for work but tried the use recording button first.

As it was recording I altered the channel on the Dbox to see what would happen. The channel changed and then it showed a failed recording it the recording page.

Now when I tried to select a channel to watch or record it wouldn't work because there are no tuners available. It's as though GBPvr now thinks that the Dbox is unavailable.

I'll have another go tonight cos I've got to leave for work.

Hi people, can anyone confirm if this is just a few limitations with using GBPvr or a fault that shouldn't happen?

Especially want to know what happens if I press record on Live TV. Does it carry on recording until I press stop or just records that program? Either way this didn't happen but I will have a play tonight.

On my Sly+ it works the following:

you set a timer manually in the setup how long you want to be able to rewind backwards a program that was actually watched (Live TV)

Let's say 30 Minutes so you have to have been watching it for the last 30 Minutes to be able to rewind back that amount.

Then you can just press record to actually record the program to the end from the point you pressed record

The 3rd Option is to press record twice and the Receiver records the Program from the beginning (via EPG) but only the maximum time back that is set via the setup .

Maybe Alibert can explain the Dbox Plugin functionality

I am very much a newbie but was wondering if this plugin is likely to work with my Triple Dragon rather than a DBox? To same myself a weekend of trial and error it would be very nice if you could advise me.

Thanks
