Aha! I am running through a proxy. I didn't even think of that. It's actually an internet filtering service proxy and I didn't have it setup until I connected this box. I'll have to contact the service and see what I need to do to let net2hipsend through. I knew it was something stupid I had done. Thanks for the help!

cool...i knew it had to be something as my program is ultra simple..
surprising it redirects localhost tho..it's not necessary..
look for somthing like 'bypass proxy for local addresses' to enable localhost access..
set it in IE to affect net2hipsend..as i think it uses IE proxy settings..

I'm back in business! I contacted my filtering service and was able to bypass for local addresses. I confirmed net2hipsend worked and then reinstalled my antivirus/firewall and everything is jiving perfectly. Thanks a ton for the help, pBS! Sub has done an outstanding job with gbpvr but all of you who have enhanced it with add-ons and other functionality have put the icing on the cake.

good deal...glad ya got it working..

i've kinda moved on to using IR Server suite cuz hip isn't compatible with mce devices in win7 yet...
both blasters work and i've worked out multiple stb codesets so many stb's can be addressed...Big Grin
[as many as you want, just no more than 2 of any kind]
it accounts for all the normal stuff you have to tweak, like disabling windows handling of the keys, disabling mce services,etc...
and uses the standard windows driver, so no funny stuff needed and blasting is quick and precise..
it's got all the features of hip, including scheduler and send messages..and the interface is pretty decent..

i've already got a profile for hauppauge 45 button remote + mce remotes in one profile...and a custom enhanced blaster .exe for pvrx2 and npvr...
[i still need to make a npvr profile, and update wiki]

i'll still support net2hipsend for a while until i move to win7 totally..[it sure renders nice]
i'll probably start a new thread for the irss blaster when it's tested more..
[i have ideas i may be able to make it lightning fast, less than a second for 3 accurate blasts possible]

attached is a multi-stb capable irblast2.exe for ir server suite..
