Been running the new release for a bit over a week now, and I love it! In my system I use it almost exclusively on the MVP, almost never on the PC. Once in a while when I stop playback of a recording or stop LiveTV, the MVP resets to "Contacting servers." I think that's a network response issue, and it almost always happens after the PC has been running for a few days, so I'm not worried about it. My PC is below spec for this anyway, only a 650 P-III.

My only real problem is the old channel-change in Live-TV, after 2 or 3 changes LiveTV will reset every 20-MB or so, and leave all those files in my folder. I don't recall if this was ever resolved. I remember at least two threads on it, but for some reason I'm unable to find them now.

Something else, very minor, but it annoys me. The weather maps are "squished" a bit side-to-side to fit into the window they're displayed in. Is there a way to adjust this? (I haven't investigated the new weather plug-in yet.)

I just realized I installed it last Thursday night, and it's only Wed, so it's not "over a week." Just seems that way, with what I've been through today and yesterday!

Hi,

(running on win2K with Hauppage winPVR USB2)

- in a prev. post I said I had problems when stopping the playback of a recorded
item. At that time, I thought it sometimes worked correctly, but it turns out if often have this problem (I press stop on the remote and the screen goes black and stays that way) . Any suggestions?

- in liveTV, and recorded items, I have a small white line at the bottom of the screen on some channels. This is really irritating, as it is at the bottom in the black part and flickers a bit. I don't have this line in wintv2000, sagetv or beyondtv, so I conclude it must be gbpvr related. Any help would be really nice.

Thanks.

Quote:On the down side, I still have lots of recordings failing - similar problems to Herbs and Torque. I have tried with one nova-t for a few days, and then 2 nova-t's and get similar results. Every 2nd or 3rd recording produces an empty file and fails to stop at the end of the programme. The recording cannot be cancelled from gbpvr, I have to restart the recording service. This means following records aren't started, even when there are 2 tv cards in the system, and one is idle. Results are variable. Sometimes it records 4 or 5 programs no problem, then sometimes it seems to fail on every recording. To try and work out what is happening I regularly restart the PC and leave it without running anything, but cannot understand why I get such variable results.
Just for your info. It must have been the BDA Multiplexer. Installed latest trial version of Showshifter (3.12), and set BDA Mult to SS in GBPVR Config as you suggested. Have made quite a few recordings and haven't had any problems yet.

Thanks

I just upgraded last night and all appears great except the playall function on audio playback in the Music option. The first track plays fine then nothing more. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution.

**- Added new, much improved, DVD player. You can specify which DVD Navigator to use, but I recommend sticking with the default Microsoft one 'DVD Navigator'.**

Sub,

Let me just add to the many thanks and praises of the people over the last 15 pages of posts. I would have to agree that this is the best version yet. I don't really have any complaints about it at all. I upgraded today and it worked great out of the box. Anyone that has used this for any amount of time knows that you just learn to surf wisely and get used to not being able to hop around like mad.

I love the new "Recording Soon" feature although the date and time feature cuts off at the bottom so I can't see that. Again...another thing I am just used too. It seems that anything too close to the edge will not display on my television. So if I was making changes I would keep text away from the edge to avoid this. (again..no complaints...totally happy)

The one thing that I am having problems with is I don't have a DVD button. From reading your original post I would think I should have access to this. I have the plugin checked to show the button in the config but it does not appear. My thought is that I need something else installed that I am missing. Is this the case? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Another donation will be on the way and I encourage all to donate whatever you can. Sub...thanks for the best product out there and all the time you put into this.

DVD playback is not possible for PVR350 or MVP users, so possibly this is why you dont get this?

Email a screenshot to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look. It uses the system date format, so its possible your local representation is too big for the default box I specify. Either way, its just a skin issue and can be easily corrected by editting a text file.

Sub, it probably won't be cut off in the screen shot. It's just that most TV's have an inherent amount of overscan and with some of your skin's information being so close to the edge, it gets chopped.

I've tuned my HDTV to have very little overscan (you have to have some for cable, otherwise you see all kinds of garbage) and I still get some cut off using your new Blue skin.

It really is nice to have the default skin show all the cool features, but if you could, move some of the juicy info away from the edges a bit. I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing this.

Thanks!

This is one feature I'm not getting, tho perhaps I've misunderstood. If I select "Live TV" while a program is being recorded, I just get the "no tuner available" message as before. It'd be nice if it directed me to recording - is this what it's meant to do?
