Maybe try a .Net repair. Has helped me a few times.

I'm not sure if you were talking to me or the other guy above. I did a net repair before I posted but that did not seem to fix it either. It is a rather unusual problem, I can't figure out why I can access everything in the browser on the local computer but have no luck on a remote computer. Thanks for the suggestions.

In fact I was 'talking" to finnvt. Wrt your problem: I remember Shiningdragon (a few weeks ago) having the same kind of problem (I think), he solved it by installing ISS, however nobody understood why that would help.

The .NET Repair didn't seem to help. I'll try ISS if I get desperate, but that seems a little strange...

Definitely haven't done any custom code. Not sure why this is here (or why all the spaces got added in the middle of Temporary...). What should be in that directory? I have many App_Code.xxxxxx files which seem to be changing rather constantly.

Hi!

I was sent here by sub as I'm having a problem on my win2k3 enterprise server which runs the latest gbpvr as a server. When I upgraded gbpvr to the latest version my webserver stopped functioning (it didn't give it's normal pages, only error pages) and every 10 seconds or so the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe would jump to 100% cpu usage, even though gbpvr was idle.

For more info see this topic:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post144053

any idea what it might be and how to cure the problem? Will search the forums myself too.

Thanks in advance!

Alternatively, UncleJohnsBand might remember what the cause was. Try posting the question in the Enhanced Web Admin thread in the developers forum so he sees it.

This has cropped up in a couple of betas of GBPVR but was always fixed before the release. sub fixed something in the recording service that was causing the heartbeat. I know it did appear in one of the first 98 builds was fixed....reappeard in a beta then went away again.

I also know the w2k3 can freak out on some small stuff....just two week ago when we upgraded our web servers at work to 2003 we spent 3 full, long days resarching spikes that blew out the w3p process (IIS)....as it turned out it is a but with the oracle driver we were using. I am sure this is not your issue but I wanted to highlight that w2k3 server can have things happen that do not happen in the desktop world.

I'll see if I can find an old thread to see if sub documented the fix....

Mr. Camaro Wrote:I'm having a weird problem with Web Admin. I've search the threads and found several people with problems but not exactly like I have.

Here are the details.

-I had it working prior to the upgrade 0.98.8b

-After I upgrade to 0.98.8b I also upgraded to Build 47 of the web admin.

-I can connect on the local machine with http://loacalhost:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx

-I can connect on the local machine using the network name of meadiapc with http://mediapc:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx

Now when I go to another machine inside my network and use http://mediapc:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx it just times out. I'm using Sygate firewall on both machines with AVG Anti-virus. I have tried disabling both but still no luck. Again it worked before so nothing should have changed here.

I've used netstat -a on the mediapc and I can see:
TCP mediapc:7647 mediapc:0 LISTENING

I've also seen this say Time_Wait

I can telnet on the mediapc and it makes a connection, this does not work on another machine on the LAN.

The network connection is working, as I'm using Remote Desktop to connect to the mediapc without any problems. So my work around now is to use Remote Desktop to connect to the mediapc and then use the web admin locally.

My initial thoughts are that this can't be a web admin problem, but it is wierd since everything was working before. If anyone can point me in another direction or make a suggestion of something else to look at I would appreciate it.

I just re-read this.....do you have port 7647 and 7648 if you are using VLC to stream content) open in your router?

You could try stopping the gbpvr recording service and then delete the gbpvr directory tree in the temporary asp net directory and see what happens.

Lately I noticed that my FF keeps eating CPU. I did a quick elimination, and found that if I close the tab that holds the EWA the CPU goes back down (and stays there...).

Anyone else had similar issues?
Any special reason why this would happen?

Red arrow shows when I closed the EWA tab. It is concistant - meaning if I re-open it it does it again.

Oh - and now I tested and it seems to do it only when viewing the "TV Guide", not with the rest of the tabs.
