madcat Wrote:Lately I noticed that my FF keeps eating CPU. I did a quick elimination, and found that if I close the tab that holds the EWA the CPU goes back down (and stays there...).

Anyone else had similar issues?
Any special reason why this would happen?

Red arrow shows when I closed the EWA tab. It is concistant - meaning if I re-open it it does it again.

Oh - and now I tested and it seems to do it only when viewing the "TV Guide", not with the rest of the tabs.

This was just brought up again.....(see below).....I will check with sub....it is internal to the web server not the ewa interface itself.

However....if you are only seeing it in the guide then you are probanly observing the Server Time clock that sits in the upper left hand side of the guide.

This is an AJAX based feature so it is communicating real-time back to the server to show the time so every second there is a bit of communication occuring between the guide and the server.

Are you only seeing this on the guide?

wesselcolsen Wrote:Hi!

I was sent here by sub as I'm having a problem on my win2k3 enterprise server which runs the latest gbpvr as a server. When I upgraded gbpvr to the latest version my webserver stopped functioning (it didn't give it's normal pages, only error pages) and every 10 seconds or so the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe would jump to 100% cpu usage, even though gbpvr was idle.

For more info see this topic:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?p=144053#post144053

any idea what it might be and how to cure the problem? Will search the forums myself too.

Thanks in advance!

I found bug when I installed a new disk in my system. I don't know if this is in EWA or in GBPVR but since I see it in EWA I write it here. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My Recordings Directory is at:
E:\Shares\Video\Recordings
My Live TV Buffer:
E:\Shares\Video\LiveTV

I chose to mount the new disk as a mountpoint E:\Shares\Video and copied the old files with intact directory structure. The purpose of this was to have everything as the same setup as earlier and it worked perfectly.

The Bug is that the statistics in EWA does not show up right, it picks the sizes from the root disk and not the new disk.

Did you remove your old disk (the old e: drive) or assign it to a new drive letter?

UncleJohnsBand Wrote:I just re-read this.....do you have port 7647 and 7648 if you are using VLC to stream content) open in your router?

I had 7647 open before and now I have added 7648 even though I'm not using VLC yet. These ports are open on the router and pointing to the PC that has GBPVR installed. But since I'm inside the router trying to access from within the network I don't think this matters.

Any ideas for troubleshooting that might give me a hint why it is not working?

Are you sure that Windows Firewall is disabled? This appears to be a firewall issue of some sort.

HAve you tried http://ip.of.mediapc/gbpvr/guide.aspx If you use the IP and can't get there then for sure it is a firewall issue.

Well, I'm kind of embarrased to say you are right. Somehow it turned itself back on. I'm using the Sygate firewall so I disabled Windows Firewall a long time ago.

When you said that, I thought, "Man that might be it, because remote desktop is working and I know that is enabled by default with the windows firewall." Then I looked and said, "Dang, What the hell! IT IS ON!"

Thanks again for the help!

It is still mounted as E: and the new disk is sitting as E:\Shares\Video

You need to change the drive letter of the old drive....since there are 2 E: drives it is picking the first one it finds.....

Right click on my computer
Select Mangae
Expand out the Storage folder if it is not already
Select Disk Management
Right click on your old E: drive
Select Change Drive Letter and Paths
Click on the Change button
Change it to a different drive lettter such as M: or F: or O:...anything but E:

You should now only have one E: drive...that being the new drive.....your stats should now work.

I'm getting a bit frustrated, and I'm sure it's a simple thing that I've overlooked.

When I attempt to record something via the web interface, I receive the red box with the "Recording Failed!" text in it. I'm beginning to think it is doing it purposely to antagonize me.

Anyway, are there common things that I should be looking at to attempt to fix this? I can see the guide fine and all the other pages seem to come up for me, except the Admin.aspx page. Still trying to figure out why that one won't show.

Thanks in advance for your time.
