sub Wrote:What spec is your PC? The recommended minimum spec is a PIII 1GHz or higher. Most users that have problems like you mention are using the very slow VIA EPIA boards.

I guess it's off-topic for this thread, but I've been having the same slow down every time I hit the on-screen guide in live tv. I'm running an Athlon XP 2400+ with 1.25 gigs RAM, so I would imagine my specs are good. It is on a Soyo VIA KM400 chipset motherboard. Could that be a problem?

It could be related to the speed of your video card, or the video decoder you're using. I've now retired this machine, but much of GB-PVR was developed on an AMD 1800+, which worked fine with no slow downs etc.

I am running:

1.4 Ghz Athlon
512 MB Ram
40 GB WD ATA133 Hard Drive
ATI Radio 7500 (svideo out)

It seems i'm not the only one having this problem. What type of video card (if that is the problem) would I need to resolve this issue?

This threads gotten a bit off topic. Are you referring to the 30-second hiccup? If so, it's corrected with the latest release and isn't video card related.

Yes, I agree the thread has gotten off topic. No, i'm not referring to the hic-up problem.

You will have to excuse me. I am very new to forums. In fact this is my first interation with any forum. I am finding it difficult to navigate through all the information and get the answers I need. I have been playing with GBPVR for a week or so now and there are some things that either don't work right for me or I just can't figure out how to do. Is there a place where I can post these (probobly stupid) questions and get some answers?

It's best to start a new thread in the Support forum.

It's also best to try and find the answer first by searching, but if you can't don't hesitate to post. People are pretty friendly here. Also, don't worry about asking stupid questions... I'm sure they're not stupid, and even if they are they won't be the first, or the last. Smile

The more information you supply about the problem, the software you're using and your hardware, the better.

I'm a long time user of gbpvr and recently started using TS full time. I was experiencing the '30 second hic-ups', but upgraded to 96.8, and everything is great - no more hic-ups.

Thanks for fixing this sub, and thanks for the awesome software!
