jsteele: i'm trying out sliding doors of css (part 2), it makes adding new tabs MUCH easier. It sounds like you havn't installed the new version properly (did you restart the recording service?)

erik: yea, for some reason if you have a program in the db (from say 1:15-1:45), and it gets updated (to say 1:20-1:50), then for some reason you end up with both. Idealy the EPG should delete the old one when it imports the new one, because you end up with overlaps with the next or previous program too. This really needs to be fixed in the EPG import code, because you can't tell which is the new time and which is the old one.

Hrm, I'm messing around with css for themeing etc, and I plan to use background images to create buttons, so making double buttons like this will become easier.

build 16:
- some more attempts in getting buttons (now links) to be css only (more stuff based on 'Sliding Doors of CSS').
- you can configure some settings in config-recorders.xml
- favicon included in theme

wake: if you want, you can start looking at updating your brushed-steel/silver theme to work with the new css model. I'd like to include it when I've finished migrating the application to the new css based styles.

P.S. The horrid flicker you experience in IE is fixed in the provided recordingservice executable provided. It is just a patched version of 0.91.12(b) so if you have any issues after you replace it make sure you're using 12b too. (remember to stop the service to replace the file). The next release (which is several weeks away apparently), will contain the same fix.

Just installed Build 16 and it looks nice. Quick question though -- what's the admin tab for? It appears to be empty.

(Please forgive me that I didn't read through all 16 pages of this thread) Wink

yea no problem, both the admin tab and the logoff are currently on the todo list. On the admin page you will be able to change the settings you currently have to hand edit in the xml file, and the logoff page should get a 'you were sucessfully logged off' message.

Excellent -- nice work there. The repeating time scale is a welcome addition.

I think this may have been answered before, but is it possible to incorporate color-coded genres? It seems like I have read that the reason it is not in there yet is b/c xmltv doesn't support it (although I believe that Zap2It does).

Is this possible?

yea, i've had lots of requests for zap2it specific identifiers (which incorporate genres). I've been very hesitant to add support for it because then only people using zap2it will be able to use those features and everyone else will wonder why they can't use them.

I'd be VERY happy to support them if the xmltv epg updater would populate the unique_identifier field in the db (even if it's not in the xmltv spec), because then at least more people can use the features. (and I can hack them into my xmltv grabbers)

Since installing build 16 the webinterface works fine but now I get an error in GBPVR attempting to start Live TV "Error no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

I stoped/started both GBPVR and GBPVRTray.

BTW I had problems installing the GBPVRRecordingServices from build 16. I was unable to simply unpack the ZIP over it, I had to rename the old file to ".sav" before I could extract the file. This was even after removing GBPVR/GBPVRTray from the Startup and restarting Windows.

Hrm, I'd say for now go back to the sav(ed) version. I'll try and get a better patched version out (i.e. actually do the patch properly as compared to recompiling it *grin*) The patch really only fixes the reload image on hover bug.

(Not to say you can't use the new web-site, just use the old recordingservice)
