I have the UpdateEPG.bat file in my GBPVR directory with the following:

C:\MSN_XMLTV\MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.60.exe Settings.xml /d /c

When I manually click the BAT file, a DOS window pops-up and then goes away, only showing the string above. So I run the MSN XLMTV program and download the channel listings. If I right-click on the GBPVR icon in the system tray and select Update EPG it will update correctly. If I choose Update EPG in GBPVR's system menu it doesn't do anything either.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Why not try having windows scheduler set up to automatically run

C:\MSN_XMLTV\MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.60.exe /s Settings.xml /d /c

After the EPG data has been downloaded then have GBPVR update the EPG from the local recently updated file. Do this through the EPG update in GBPVR config. Ensure the time you set is later than the time you set the Windows scheduler to get the EPG data.

Also check your command line as I didn't see the /S switch in what you wrote.

For those interested: Check out http://planetreplay.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14314
for details on the switches.

I have the command line use for MSN working fine now. It appears that the GBPVR program isn't updating the EPG at 5am like I specified in the config. I will let it run tomorrow morning again and see what happens. The MSN schedule is set for 4am, plenty of time to DLL.

Is there a spot in any GBPVR log that shows if the program updated the EPG? I am pointing at the correct XML file as when I update from the GBPVR system tray icon it works, just not the schedule part.

Thanks.

Zip and attach your GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log files for the last couple of days and I'll take a look.

This log only shows a two minute period not covering the time your EPG update would have occurred. Leave it running for a day, then post that log file and I'll take another look.

According to the logs its definitely running your UpdateEPG.bat file, and processing the xml file you've told it to use. If anything is going wrong I suspect it relates to what you're running in UpdateEPG.bat. If it works when you manually running, but not automated, then its most likely either because you've assumed a specific current directory, rather than explicitly setting it in your batch file, or because you've done something in your batch that isnt valid from a different user account, like a using directory that the localsystem account wouldnt have permission to use.

I got this error during the EPG Update. Even after a fresh reboot and trying to manually update the EPG, still get the same thing. This has worked great for a couple of months now, so not sure what changed. Anyone else getting this error?

Sub, I was able to get it working now. I had to make the batch file go back to the root C: drive and then into the MSN scraper directory.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, I thought it'd be something like that. Glad you got it sorted.
