Hi,
Meirssv Wrote:Hi guys,

I tried setting up the dboxrecorder but it does not work. I think I know why, but it is very strange that I do not see anyone else on this forum that encounters the same behaviour.

I choose 'Live TV", ggrab starts grabbing correctly. I monitored the task getting started in task manager and I even see the temporary mpg-files getting created. But, after a short period (the LiveTV pre-play delay in ms on the Playback-tab in config I guess) it just goes back to without showing the stream.

Now... If I try playing the mpg-file myself, I get an error: 'File in use' while ggrab is doint its thing. When ggrab is stopped, I can play the file.
Are to trying to play the file within gbpvr/pvrx2 or another application? Are you at least able to just record a programme? Have you tried different configuration options for the grabber, and also the wingrabengine? Which linux-image are you using?

Meirssv Wrote:Playing with the 'LiveTV pre-play delay'-parameter makes the mpg-files who gets created by the above steps smaller or larger.

So I conclude that the problem I have is that GBPVR can't read the file while ggrab writes to it...
At my setup (and possibly in many other's, too), gbpvr or pvrx2 is able to playback files that are currently recorded by the plugin. I think your problem is somewhere else, and to narrow it down, I would need some log files. Please set your log level to "debug", enable log flushing, and do the following:
1. Record a programme:
- Go to the tv guide,
- Navigate to a channel that is only available on your dbox
- Select the currently airing programme
- Record it
2. Watch a programme
- Go to the tv guide,
- Navigate to a channel that is only available on your dbox
- Select the currently airing programme
- Watch it
I will need the following files: GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log, pvrx2.exe.log, PVRX2.exe-native.log.

Meirssv Wrote:I checked the sourcecode of the ggrab.exe and found this in tools.cpp:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't this be:

This will enable reading while writing I think, correct? I am not a C/C++ programmer so this is little bit a guess for me.

regards,
Meirssv
Yes, maybe, I'm not sure, too. You can compile ggrab with your changes and check if it solves your problem - I currently don't have a cygwin environment installed to try it out, sorry. But as I said, as it's working here fine, I don't think that it would change your situation in that case.

Hi...I'm trying to get this to work with my DM500 and I think the only thing stopping it is the lack of the ability to add a non standard port in the config.

My Dreambox is not on the standard http port 80....I guess many aren't. People that already have http servers running on port 80 cannot use it for the Dream.

I have tried adding the port in the config....but this seems to confuse the program.

Anyonw know of any work arounds....or how to make this work with a DM500 with a Gemini image (Enigma)?

it's only possible to define the udp port used by ggrab in the configuration. All requests to the nhttp or ehttp api are directed to http port 80.
Maybe you can configure your router to redirect such requests to the port of your dreambox as a workaround?

Hi Alibert.

I have a dreambox 7025 which uses Enigima 2 and i'm not able to use it. Can you make it compatible or what should I do to working with GBPVR?

Thank you!

enigma 2 is not supported, sorry, and I don't have the time to add support for it (even don't know if it's possible, as the plugin relies on ggrab or the wingrabengine).

okay, maybe I'll try and do so when I'll get the time - but I can't promise. Can you provide me the http client api for enigma 2? And when your're saying that ggrab and wingrabengine are supported, does it mean that they're just
working as they used to or are here changes needed, too?

Hi all

I'm a DBox2 newbie with some tech knowledge of networks and capture cards, but with GB-PVR I'm struggling at the first hurdle because I can't get the GB-PVR config to see the DBoxRecorder plugin.

I downloaded the most recent version from the wiki, extracted it from the zip into the plugin directory and went to add a capture source in config, but nothing useful appears.

I have read back through this thread and seen reference to a patch dll to replace the dboxrecorder.dll plugin but it would seem that the file is no longer attached to the post (perhaps because it is over 2 years old?).

Can anybody help me? If I can get my DBox working as a PVR I can finally get rid of my Sky+ box and start to use my Virgin Media subscription.

try putting the dll into a subfolder of the plugins directory, e.g.

Code:
.\devnz\gbpvr\plugins\dboxrecorder\dboxrecorder.dll
