If there are any skin changes, I am sure they would be minor. If you want to have a go at it...

I wont have time until this weekend. Soccer (aka Football) for both kids has replaced wrestling for the next month or so.

McBainUK Wrote:Yes, attached are screenshots made with the latest build (CS-HD is on the right).

If you compare the second screenshot (CS-HD) with the one here, it looks just like displaying the widescreen version of the skin on a 4:3 display.

McBainUK Wrote:"GIS"? Can you post (or email) a dummies guide for this?

My bad, force of habit short hand. "GIS" is just google image search, if you search for calibration you get a large 4:3 text card from "www.visualmoxie.com", but any perfect circle will do. If you load it up and it's distorted on your TV screen. That might be what's causing your skin woes.

As I've said, I'm having good results from creating a custom resolution (for square pixels). If you want to give it a go:

Then step one is to work out if you have a 16:9 or 16:10 CRT TV. The analogue widecreen picture from the BBC is 16:10 (actually it's a 4:3 signal with black bars put in at the top and bottom). The digital widscreen picture for BBC is 16:9.

Next get powerstrip and create a custom resolution for your aspect ratio. As far as I know the more significant of the two is the vertical resolution, so for SD signals work off of a vertical height of 540. So 16:9 would be 960x540 and 16:10 is 864x540. Set the refresh rate to whatever your TV handles 50hz or 100hz, reboot and give it a shot.

Everything should now appear square/round, icons/browsing/folders.

I suspect so. Are we set on changing -HD to -WS? If so, I can submit that tonight.

I'm for the HD->WS change. Probably worth doing a test or two after mind - don't want any gotchas.

I think there may be a slight glitch in the referencing after the HD > WS conversion. For me none of the WS (HD) editable elements (graphical+formatting xmls) load on install, they're all SD versions.

I also can't access the skin plugin to try loading these elements manually.

Looks like some (minor) changes to the SkinPlugin and the CS-WS install script are required.

See the (new) "HD to WS rename" section on the tasks page.

Are we going to change the SkinPlugin resources folder from ResourcesHD to ResourcesWS also?
