It actually looks pretty nice. I am unable to tell a difference between this and the originals.

If you think it's a go, it might be worth summarising what you need to do and simply putting it in the WIKI under a heading "How do I play AVI's over the MVP", (right next to "How do I play DVD's over the MVP", which seems to have also just been resolved with xdvd)?. If someone can help with the summary, I could have a go at putting it in the WIKI?

jpenninkhof Wrote:Actually, it could be quite easy if you use Avisynth. Just generate a little AVS-script of 2 lines and then create the graph based on the AVS instead of the AVI. The AVS script could look like this:

Code:
AVISource("c:\the matrix.avi")
ChangeFPS(25)

Above is obviously for PAL settings, for NTSC settings it should be:

Code:
AVISource("c:\the matrix.avi")
ChangeFPS(29.97)

Has anyone been able to try this yet? I wrote the script but on the PC it stutters. I have not been able to try it on the MVP yet. I think more might be needed in the AVS script. I did some reading on one of the Avisynth boards, I wasn't sure what I was looking for, so it was hard to figure out what I was reading but I think not only do you need to change the FPS but duplicate some frames or fractions of fames to get it back up to 29.97. I realy don't know much about Avisynth.

Another thought. With the current version Sub added the ability to change the transcoder. Has anyone tried this? I'm interested to know how this might affect playback of AVI's. For instance useing VLC instead of Sub's transcoder. I'm not even sure how to do it. But I'm sure someone who read's this will. Let me know if you do. Thanks

FWIW: I downloaded an avi and tried to play it on my MVP with AVS but had sync issues.
