it seems that you havn't got any mpeg2 video or audio encoders avalible on your system. You are going to need to download some to be able to record - check out: Moonlight encoder, evaluation version avalible for download from http://www.elecard.com/download/

intervideo came with my tuner. I guess there isn't support for it yet, huh?

intervideo? It looks like an all-in-one with very little programming support. It's a very long shot but if intervideo supply DirectShow plugins (this I doubt) that do video encoding, audio encoding and muxing you can edit the regular expressions in config-recorders.xml and add the text to be found in the intervideo plugins.

okay, ive managed to get it working in the recorder test app, but i cant seem to get it to work in the actual gbpvr very well, it seems to consume tons of system resources and it takes around 2 minutes to to start

2 minutes! ouch! Have a look at the log files (and post them here) and check what line items are taking a long time to execute.

Hi Normanr just downloaded and installed v11. Great that it now has SVideo/composite recording source.
Problem tho, I'm getting an "Error: The parameter is incorrect" when I go into Live TV.
Then, when I go back into Software Recorder config all the fields are empty! I have to reset everything. Is there a problem with the recorder config saving my settings or am I doing something wrong??
Thanks man and keep up the good work.

btw if you need any of the log files you'll have to let me know where to find them! am still a bit of a newbie when it comes to this!

Thanks

I got the same thing too. Then I figured out that after you configure things in config.exe, configure your tuner in the recordingtest.exe. The settings there seem to be saved into gbpvr's settings.

And here are my latest log files.

Hi ripps thanks for that. Tried what you said and in recordingtest.exe everything seems to be fine. I can preview tv and record fine but I load up gb-pvr and I'm still getting the "Error: The parameter is incorrect" message!

I've added my logs too hope they help!

Thanks again ripps

ripps818, m0rt: check your config-recorders.xml file, there should be a capture source defined in the captureSources node.

NB: You will have to restart the recording service and GB-PVR after configuring the capture sources. The configuration is only loaded at startup, and from what I see in these log files, the programs loaded blank settings, and then the capture source was configured. So you're getting an error which equates to 'the capture source has not been setup!'
