See?
Code:
<CompositeImage name="PopupSelectedButtonImage" size="155,40">
<DrawImage filename="_CommonImages\Button_Selected.png" size="150,40" loc="0,0" />

<CompositeImage name="SelectedButtonImage" size="180,40">
<DrawImage filename="_CommonImages\Button_Selected.png" size="165,40" loc="15,0"/>

This is how the X locations of the buttons is determined in the BaseSkin/Advisor Themes.
All button X,Y location is set to 0,70 in the individual skin files.

Have a look at the ScreenName size.....it is set to a really big value 600,120 so wide fonts can be used......as in Mayhem1

Does the text definition have to be 120 high? That would get in the way of your buttons and lists wouldn't it? 600x60 would fit 38pt text down to the 69 pixel mark if your text starts at y=9

Yes, 120px is not needed, but it doesn't matter. I just kept Subs height.

What shall we call the new skin system?
Community skin?
Standard skin?
Common skin?
Plugin skin?
CommonImage skin?
CommonPlugin skin?
ImageSkin?
....or a fancy name like
Composer ?
Multimage ?
Ximage skin ?

As a temp working skin we can use the BlueMCE2-X ....that can transform into the new one.
The new is a page with the skin and separete zips for each plugin.....in my view.

My vote is for Community, but open to any suggestions. The name should be understated, like the GB-PVR scene in general

The whole idea with this thread was to have a "Standard" for Common Images and Naming for plugins.
I guess that skinners will have their own ideas about XML layout and naming for the core skins.

I would like to have Subs, Jeffs comments to the images and overall naming at this stage. The other plugin developers needs to be in on this to.

I vote for CommonImage skin.
Community is to high profile in my eyes.

Defining TVguide_grid to one row is withing my goals. I will not use it.
Instead it shoud TVguide_grid1.png....so it is within the some "rules".
Sassari demands a TVGuide_Grid6.png

If that is the case, we need "5" as well (Hi-Vis uses 5).

We could drop "1" then since I doubt there is a need for 4 channels.

Skin name idea...

Yes, skinners will have the freedom and flexibility to do whatever they wish. The "community skin" is a product of the image standard in action (It is not a skinning standard itself). It would be a good "starter" skin for custom enhancements. The community skin is a compromise on many different schemes and methods that can be easily adapted by skinners or users.

Image names can be changed, and tweaked since it is "Development" stage right now.
