What problem are you having exactly?

Hi Sub - I posted a reply yesterday but it's not here so let me try again. I still have two issues but the main one deals with the low signal level reported. Here are the details:

Weak signal on the digital mapping scan - if you do a scan for digital stations with the base software (V0.99.12) I get no channels found even thought ONAIR GT reports a strength of 32-33 db for all the cable channels. The reported fixes for this problem (PsiParser.AX and NativeUtilities.exe patches you made) on forum pages 3-5, they do appear to fix my problem of the scan while you are in the configuration mode but don't work correctly with the latest software version and cause it to crash (Problem is with PsiParser.ax file), so you must back this file out if installed just to get the software to run at all. I can sort of fix the problem with ONAIR-InitMode patch (that patch includes a new NativeUtilities.exe but does not deal with the PsiParser file) from Ryan of Autumnwave, but the signal is still weaker than if I could use your PsiParser.ax patch. With the ONAIR patch in and the system running, I can tune the stations but they will come and go with a signal - quality meter showing on the black screen which on occasion has caused the system to crash. I've monitored the cable signal strenght using the ONAIR meter to see if there is a big swing on the strength side but it's real solid in the high -32 to -33 dp range for all of the stations and no flux observed.

Second problem is sporadic recordings - I alway create the file but at times I have a file with data and others without. I'm thinking this maybe related to the signal issue about. I've tried using different MUX but they all appear to have this same issue. It will work one time and then not the next.

Got any suggestions?

There are some updated versions of PsiParser.ax posted here in some other threads, but I couldnt find one after a quick search (and unfortunately my version is no longer compatible, so cant post a new one).

Did you try the patch from this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=25410

Hi Sub - Thanks for the response. I'll do some searching for an updated PsiParser.ax file. If you come across one would you let me know. On the second issue, yes I have the ONAIR-Initmode.zip files installed. But I really think the record problem will be fixed if I can file an good updated PsiParser file that correct the low signal issue I'm having. Thanks again for your help!

I am having problems mapping my QAM channels. Here is what I see in the OnAir Channel scan log:
P-Ch( 111 ) locking : OK ( QAM-256 i )
wait PSIP : OK
===============================================
[ KSTPSD ] Program(0x2) LogCh(5-2) PCR_Pid(0x21)
Video : PID(0x2,0x21)
Audio : PID(0x81,0x24)
Unknown :
[ TPT hd ] Program(0x3) LogCh(2-2) PCR_Pid(0x31)
Video : PID(0x2,0x31)
Audio : PID(0x81,0x34)
Unknown :
[ KSTP hd ] Program(0x4) LogCh(5-1) PCR_Pid(0x41)
Video : PID(0x2,0x41)
Audio : PID(0x81,0x44)
Unknown :
===============================================
P-Ch( 112 ) locking : OK ( QAM-256 i )
wait PSIP : OK
===============================================
[ WCCO-DT ] Program(0x2) LogCh(4-1) PCR_Pid(0x21)
Video : PID(0x2,0x21)
Audio : PID(0x81,0x24)
Unknown :
[ KARE-WX ] Program(0x3) LogCh(11-2) PCR_Pid(0x31)

When I do the channel scan in GBPVR in the Digital Channel Mapping I only get the KARE-WX channel but not the WCCO-DT or the KARE-HD. In previous versions (0.99.5) I mapped these manually but I can no longer do that. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Niebs,
I don't think I'm able to help you. But, if sub asks you for a sample clip of ch 112, here's how you can do it in the OnAir software:
Channel Manager > Add CH > (x) Record Stream

Niebs, can you do a scan, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log?

The GB-PVR logs seem to indicate all these CH111 channels are found fine.

The GB-PVR logs seem to indicate it also managed to find these three channelson CH112, but it looks like two of these channels werent actually running at the time of the scan (so the audio/video stream PIDs werent identified)? Are you positive they were playing at the time?

If they were playing, but definitely not found during the scan - if you have access to a web server, I might need to get you to do a 80MB or so record in the way Ryan suggests above and make the file available to me.

I can view the channels in the OnAir application. I did the steps that Ryan described and it produced a 46MB file which is stored here:

The video is of the WCCO channel but I am guessing there is other info in the file that you are looking for.

Thanks,
Paul

sub,
Were you able to download the file? Was it what you were looking for?
