HI

Looks like my motherboard has died.

So I'll probably look at a new MB/CPU/Ram combo - integrated graphics. Most of these Motherboards are pretty light on PCI slots. I'll use one for a HVR3000 DVB-S cards, and thinking about a HDHomeRun or Dual DVB-T

Any issues with this setup?

Nobody?
Tossing up whether I get a HD Home Run Dual DVB-T or Hauppauge HVR2210 or HVR2200

Anyone know the differences between to two hauppauge cards?

Only speaking of the North American experience. I generally have felt the HDHR tuners were overrated, but they were early with QAM so they developed a loyal following. I prefer Hauppauge simply because sub will be able to support it better. There are two inherent benefits to the network tuners like the HDHR though, first you don't have an antenna lead all the way to the HTPC so you might have less less and electronic interference, and second you don't might not have the same potential issues with running hardware on a VM instead of bare-metal.

Yeah the potential for using it from a VM is quite compelling.

But when a HVR2210 is about $160NZD and a HDHomeRun is $299NZD for relatively the same thing (2 x dvb-t) - and especially since I've just dropped $450 for new Motherboard, Ram and CPU I'm kinda gun shy.

I think long term I'll get an HDHomeRun, but try and get my nova-t 500 working in the new rig in the mean time.
