Has two lines that give paths first one goes to the gb folder
second once goes to the recording.log

A couple of things that we need to look at:

1. Copy and paste your PostUpdateEPG.bat file into a message.

2. Locate the file called recordings.log, not PriorityRecordings.exe.log, and post that as well.

Those two files will give us more information to go on and we can better help identify what is happening.

It looks like for both of these programs you have it set to not record duplicates and not to schedule duplicates. I would turn these off. Also, if you have a time restriction set on these shows as well, delete those as well, unless you only want it to record at specific times.

So, for those two shows, you'll want it to record and schedule duplicates. If you are using Zap2It for an episode guide source, I would expect the Uniqueid number for these shows to be the same for every occurence. If you use an XMLTV source, more than likely there won't be a uniquie description or subtitle for these shows.

what about the fact that more then half my shows wont go into pending?


I want the time restriction cause they have reruns later on.......

whats the deal with the duplicates....should I set all my shows to record duplicates?



and I should note that I think its saying all that cause I went into the guide myslef and set it to record those shows that night cause the sceduler isnt working.....

You need to know how your guide populates the data. Are you using Zap2It or an XMLTV source?

If your guide gives you different descriptions for each program, then you can typically go ahead and use the duplicate recording logic to control whether it records the program or not. Typically for News shows you'll find that they don't either have a description or they are the same description. If duplicate checking is turned on for these shows it won't record more than one show, ever because it thinks they are the same show.

Some of your programs aren't being recorded because they have Priority conflicts with other programs that have a higher priority and are on at the same time. You also have programs that appear on multiple channels and have multiple entries in the guide. Some of these might not record because of the channel restrictions set. If you don't care which channel it records from then remove the channel restriction from one of the recordings, and remove the duplicate entry.

You can also turn on the Conflict flag in the PriorityRecordings.xml file, so that it Keeps the conflicts. This way they'll show up in the conflict menu in XRecord and you can see which programs are running into scheduling conflicts. To set this option to keep, look in the PriorityRecordings.xml file for the Conflicts element and if it says Delete change it to Keep. The next time PriorityRecording.exe runs, it'll Keep all the conflicts, allowing you to see what was in conflict and why.

Ideally, I would suggest starting with a small subset of programs and scheduling those to see how it all works and how the different options affect the scheduling. Change the conflicts to Keep, review the recordings.log file to get more information on what is actually happening during the scheduling process.

Having a priority recording scheduling system, and the wide variety of optionsin setting restrictions on a program can both be a blessing and curse. It adds more complication to the scheduling process, but it also gives you greater control of how your programs are scheduled and when.
