The recordings panel, will start recording within the next 10 minute period, that is, at the hour, 10 past, 20 past, half past, 20 to, and 10 to.
From Live TV, it starts immediately...
BTW, what's the keyboard key combo (CTRL+?) to start a recording immediately from live TV?

From memory, I think Ctrl-K is the record combo.

Set up a new source for your card, called (DUH!) composite (look in config). Make a new channel for the TV guide that points to the composite input, then you just have to tune gbpvr to that channel.

I went into Config.exe and set up another capture source naming it ( My Composite ). I then set up a single channel named ( RCA ). This works great by going to manual record and playing back the VCR into my RCA dongle. I also can watch by going to that channel under Live TV. However I do have an issue. I am getting a small fuzzy line at the bottom of the picture. Any idea how to get rid of this. thanks

With a similar setup using the HP 350 card I observe a similar small green line at the bottom. Thought it was my very old VHS machine causing it.

I don't have this problem with my ATI 550 (PAL) recording from VCR. Perhaps it is related to your VCR?

I think you guys are right...... Sounds like a VCR issue.
By the way, the file is very large. Does anyone know how
to shrink an Mpeg 2 file

Reduce the bitrate.

The line on the bottom of the screen is (probably) the audio track on the VHS tape.
Because the tuner card captures the whole screen, this shows up on recordings, but should be in the overscan area during playback.
There is nothing you can do to remove it from recordings, and is just something that happens when doing VHS captures.
