Made some progress, took some steps back.... got some Q's

Just fixed (well, kinda) the DVD sound. Switched to the Intervideo Audio decoder (still running nVidia video decoder) and all is well. Unsure why the nVidia audio decoders won't work for DVD, or why non of the others seem to....

So, as far as I know, my PVR setup is 100% functional again...

FWIW - to recap, I had the jitter problem only with the nVidia decoder with Quartz.dll ver:
6.5.2600.2749
It was intermittant, showed up mostly when changing channels and/or upon firing up GBPVR.

cleaned it up --- side note: this file generated itself when I renamed my 2749 quartz.dll
