You're welcome.

I didn't knew that the dbox is known in the UK, too, i thought it would be a german thing.

Feel free to post any suggestions or problems regarding the plugin here.

Thanks, alibert. Working much better for me too now Smile

I still have some issues though. This is based on my dabblings last night some I'm not sure if the follwoing applies to specific broadcasts or just to channels.

I tested your plugin with about 20 of the standard freewview channels. The vast majority of channels now work well. However there are few channels still causing me problems. (out of my intitial test these were five, more4, E4 and E4+1)

These channels generate two types of errors. Occasionally they cause ggrab.exe to go to 95% plus cpu which then needs to be killed with task manager.
More commonly I get an "error playing back file" message.

In both cases I sometimes get a brief clip of the channel before errors occur.

I have taken a sample from a direct file recording from one of these channels in case it might help: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B07H2U8L

I have also attached my gbpvr logs from a session where I succesfully played channel 4 and then had failed attempts at playing back channels five and e4.

Your work on this is much appreciated so please let me know if there is any way I can help.

@cameluk

Do you have any tips on getting this working for me? Are all your channels fine? I would dearly love to get rid of my grainy pvr-150 picture Big Grin

Alfiegerner,

try the following with one of the channels you're having problems:

- try to record or watch live tv from the channel
- wait some seconds, then stop the recording again
- look at the file "GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log", search for a line similar to that one:
Code:
VERBOSE    [71]    DboxRecorder[11]: ggrab arguments:  -host 192.168.1.110 -s 0 -e "" -p 081A 0819 -o "D:\Tv Project\temp files\Danniella Westbrook EastEnders, Drugs and My New _2_20051211_23000005.mpg"
- copy the commandline arguments for ggrab (beginning with "-host")
- open a command prompt and change to the directory of ggrab.exe
- type "ggrab.exe <commandline arguments>" with the copied arguments
- look if the grabber is working and have a look to its output

running ggrab from command line I get the following:

ptr:19178 lIn:19022 lOut:13672 len:200000
Pufferfehler SearchStreamID
m_fill_video: timeout waiting with all buffers filled

After somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds ggrab.exe goes to 95% plus cpu and hangs at that.

Okay I've had a little poke around the ggrab code to try and see what's happening. Here's some more debug:

The full ggrab command on a troublesome channel is:

ggrab -host 192.168.1.110 -s 0 -e "" -p 081A 0819 -o "D:\Tv Project\temp files\Plastic Surgery Ruined My Wife_2_20051212_23100010.mpg"

This produces the above result, i.e. :

ptr:19178 lIn:19022 lOut:13672 len:200000
Pufferfehler SearchStreamID
m_fill_video: timeout waiting with all buffers filled

If I run the command but specify only the video pid like so:

ggrab -host 192.168.1.110 -s 0 -e "" -p 081A -o "D:\Tv Project\temp files\Plastic Surgery Ruined My Wife_2_20051212_23100010.mpg"

I get a good result of video streaming to my hard drive:

000:10 rt:36141
000:20 rt:1330
000:21 rt:1886

If I specify only the audio pid:

ggrab -host 192.168.1.110 -s 0 -e "" -p 0819 -o "D:\Tv Project\temp files\Plastic Surgery Ruined My Wife_2_20051212_23100010.mpg"

I only get the following message:

xlist:Confusedid: timeout wait for data

Whilst no stream is recorded to disk, gggrab also uses no cpu.

Okay so next I added -raw to the none recording audio pid command:

ggrab -raw -host 192.168.1.110 -s 0 -e "" -p 0819 -o "D:\Tv Project\temp files\Plastic Surgery Ruined My Wife_2_20051212_23100010.mpg"

It starts streaming to the hard drive for a few seconds but then stop with the message:

ptr:201154 lIn:201030 lOut:193992 len:200000
Pufferfehler SearchStreamID

All this has left me a bit baffled. Let me know if you see a problem. Thanks.

Alfiegerner,

it seems that I can't help you with that problem at the moment, sorry. Maybe in the future I will add the option to choose between different audio streams.

Has anybody used this plugin with a dreambox?

I think I have set it up correctly as the instructions suggest. I can test the connection & it finds my dreambox. I have also got the channel list from the dreambox & mapped a few channels.

When I select a channel I get the following on screen "No tuners are available to watch the requested channel. You can choose to watch one of the recording programmes."

There is nothing being recorded currently.

If I try to record the recording fails.

I am using a Dreambox 500s with a Neutrino Image & the latest version of GB-PVR.

Many thanks
