Hi,

I have been running GBPVR on an old PIII 1ghz for some months, it runs fine for me as i've found i generally don't watch live tv anymore! I don't run comskip or any other post processing on it, preferring to use my athlon box.
I do watch recorded programmes whilst it's recording without any issues on either viewing or recording.

It's reliable ( I reboot it about once a week)
reasonably quiet (it does live outside the room i use it in however - the cheapest way to silence your PC IMHO)
It faithfully records anything i throw at it (i use medium for everything apart from films)
I use it on a massive crt apple monitor which i found at a tip!

The specs:
Compaq Deskpro EX (small form factor)
intel motherboard (compaq specific i guess)
500MB RAM (unknown type,I just kept sticking what i had in it until it worked!)
Hauppauge nova t (901) w remote
SB live card for sound out
nvidia 5200 gfx
pci network card
1x80gb hd
1x160gb hd
1xdvd rom

I say try with what bits you've got.

Cheers,

Redsta

Im runnning it on a 800mhz celeron with 384mb of ram!!!

Its horrible... Video skips quite a bit. Huge lag in the menus. Occasionaly it will be perfect though...

I really need to build a better pc for it... But Im saving up for a new pc and plan on turning this into my pvr.. I really want an Apple......(WHERE ARE YOU INTEL IBOOK??)

But as im only 14 money doesnt come easy for me... Although I do work Saturdays but that usually goes for my cell phone bill...

I could easily build a new pvr pc for like 200 but is it really worth it?...

Try setting GBPVR in the task manager to a higher priority. That smoothed it out for me on a 750 mhz PC with a radeon 7000.

On a side note, money don't come too easy for PC stuff when your an adult either so I can understand how you feel. Smile
