I have only just upgraded to the latest version of GBPVR and am encountering the same problem with lots of missing chunks especially for BBC channels when using the DVB EPG even after increasing the harvest and multiple updates. This is a real shame as in the previous version it worked perfectly and the Wife Acceptance Factor has now taken a bit of a dive.
I know I could revert back to XMLTV but think that for DVB the OTA update is the way to go.
Are any changes planned for this in future releases, I am happy to supply test data if this would help. Trying to support global multiple broadcasting standards cannot be a trivial task! Keep up the good work Sub.

Just make sure you disable the 'complete EPG reload' option, and each night will fill in more of the EPG. After a few of nights (or a few manual 'update epg' clicks spread through the day) you'll find the gaps fill in. You may still have some gaps, but they'll usually be several days out.

Thanks Sub. I shall persevere with it as it does seem to be improving. Unfortunately my wife has a polarised view of life, perfect or rubbish! I am much more of a realist and therefore seldom disappointed.
I just need to wait till the weekend to rescan for CBBC and CBeebies which only broadcast during the day and I am sure she and the kids will be happy again.

Might sound silly but is there a way to combine the 2? eg dvb over air epg and xmltv for missing channels. My e4 and more4 +1 and men and motors never seem to populate via epg over dvb! Would I be able to import frorm xmltv and the use over the air dvb epg to update some radio channels and other missing channels xmltv doesnt do?

No, this is not possible.

Men & Motors is a stopper! see attached XML generated by GBPVR, the parsing failure on that name takes out More4+1 at the same time. The Microsoft parser needs & even between quotes.
Well done Sub for all the good work so far....
By the way, on my system every time I get a failure in this way I also somehow gain a new channel with a corrupt name in the favourites list.

Can you try the attached patch to see if it helps?

You can get round problems with the UK EPG by using myTheatre to update the guide instead. If you go and sit on one channel on each frequency there for a short time, you'll find it's epg fills up pretty quickly, and then there is a utility dplu wrote which converts this into an xml file, which can then be used as the source for the GBPVR guide.

http://board.mytheatre.ru/viewtopic.php?t=3917

If you know how (and I can help if you don't- though it didn't take me long to learn from scratch!) you can write a fairly simple batch file to run all this automatically from the GBPVR menu as well, by adding a custom task in the configuration settings. I haven't tested mine fully yet to get the optimum time to leave myTheatre on each frequency, but when I tried 90 seconds for each from a completely empty epg, a process that takes about ten minutes in total, I got a virtually full listing for the first three days (only 2 hours missing from Channel 4 I think), the odd gap on a few channels on the 4th and 5th days, and then a few more gaps appearing for the 6th to 8th days, though a few channels were already complete.

Following this up with a quicker, 45 second on each frequency batch, most of the gaps for most channels were filled in; of the 28 channels I checked, only CH4, five, abc1 and ITV4 had any gaps at all, and of these only one 5th day 3 hour gap on abc1, and one stubborn 4th day 20 minute gap on Ch4 were within the first 5 days. By the way, both Men and Motors and More4+1 were by then complete. It would, though, be easy to set the batch file to stay longer on the frequency for a channel that takes longer to load if it turns out that channels 4 and 5 are always slower than the BBC channels, for instance, or have a separate batch just to fill in the gaps in those slower channels. Of course if you're doing it manually, you can just check the epg in myTheatre and wait until no gaps are left.
