Have you checked the original program to see if there is a sync problem there? I've had the odd time where the sync was out, but it ended up being in the original. You can adjust the sync in videoredo fairly easily.

I see videoredo seems to be the most recommended - it seems to cost $$ however:
- whats the best out of the free alternatives do you think? - is this an area where the best free alternative is still a fair way below "videoredo" in terms of ease of use? I'm looking for a fairly straight forward editor, all in one so-to-speak - really just want a scroll bar to scroll through the move/watchit => mark start/end points => then say "create video snippet" => ideally this could be MPEG4/AVI as well as MPEG 2 output (i.e. an option for output format with level of compressions maybe) Tks

mixedup Wrote:I see videoredo I have been using the mpg2cut2 and really like it because it is simple to use, it works and is free. You could cut out any snippet of vide you want and save it as a video clip. as discussed elsewhere it is available at http://www.geocities.com/rocketjet4/ just follow the download instructions

BTW - For some reason one of my recordings (not sure why just this one) was recorded as a *.dvr-ms file, not an *.mpg. Any ideas why GB-PVR may have done this?
Also given this occurs it seems that "mpg2cut2" doesn't handle this particular format Any ideas/comments regarding how to cut pieces out of this sort of file? Is there a way to get "mpg2cut2" to work?

If you using the Microsoft DVR-MS mux with a BDA device, then it'll generate a .dvr-ms file.

must have been when I was trialing different mux's
Any recommendation on a free "mpg2cut2 like" piece of software which does handle *.dvr-ms files? Or is there a way to easily convert from *.dvr-ms to *.mpg so that I can use mpg2cut2? Tks
