it’s the newer 90002 nova I have . I pretty sure my power supply is around 400w, but I have a spare one to try.
Thanks

no, it is nothing to do with your power supply rating (we're only talking about 500mA here) but the max current the motherboard must be able to supply to the usb port (as per the usb spec written by intel i think)

Hi gEd and all.
Thanks for the info. I have also have a USB mains powered hub. I'll try that. I am confused though as I assumed power requirements of my usb "wintv pvr2 usb2" were taken care of by its own power supply? In the mean time the usb hub is ready to go.

Cheers

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your help. I've checked the driver details. The wintv pvr usb2 and the wintv nova-t do not have the exact same driver. They do share a few driver files. Do you think this sharing of driver files mean they should have the same device number in the gbpvr config?
Thanks
Kenny

A machine with both WinTV PVR USB2 and Nova-T should set both as device #1.

Hi All,

Got a slight up date on my problem. I removed the nova-t from config and ran the wintv pvr usb2 as normal. When I started the Hauppauge wintv2000 program, (digital version set up to test my nova t,) the gbpvr tv screen froze as i believe it does during my failed recordings. Because of this I think my problem is recourse related. Gbpvr aslo crashed and produced this unhandled error report. I would be grateful if someone in the "know" could have a look and see if it sheds any light on my problem.
Any further comments/ ideas appreciated
Thanks
Kenny

Its hard to tell what the WinTV software is doing when it starts, but its possible it is reinitializing all the Hauppauge devices. The safest thing to do, is not start WinTV when GB-PVR is running.
