Hey Sub,

the linksys router is doing the DHCP allocation. It looks like the mvp is getting an ip address. Though the router does not list it in its DHCP table, there is something hanging off the next IP address.

I'm wondering do i need to open ports for the ones listed off shspvr.com (5906, 6337, etc.) I'll try tomorrow with it and run netstat and see if there is anything happening.

Does anyone one know the there is the win32 equivalent of the unix app called snoop? Would be good to have a packet sniffing app to see what is happening - not sure what there is on windows,

Oh, yeah, i have not even tried GBPVR yet. Thought i'd try adn get the hauppauge stuff working first.

cheers,

Colin.

Ok, so using the latest 1.1.xxx version I can get the MediaMVP to boot up, only if I restart my PC.

I can use the mediaMVP software, but on selecting an mpg it will not play. I can hear the PC trying to do something but I assume either the router is doing something or the firewall is doing something.

I have configured the firewall to allow any machine on my router to have full access, but I'm wondering if its port 6337 or 5906 that is causing problems.

Anyone had issues like this? The revision of the box is D1. I have not heard of this one being a lemon, on the the D3's,

Cheers,
Colin.

When you say you can use the mediaMVP software, you're still talking about the Hauppuage software - or GB-PVR?

Hey Sub,

this is still mediamvp software. Once i get it connected, i try GBPVR but it can never contact a server.

Cheers,
Colin.
