Thanks, good info for all. My situation looks like power supply and computer equipment interference. Now I just need to figure out how to "maximize the distance from the computer" Big Grin
What, me worry?

If yes to all of those, I'd RMA it because it looks like it's faulty.

Well, I tried the MCE card in every slot, every combination, cable and composite, and get the same bad picture everytime.

I see the "silver sponge" thing on the 150 retail card, but it's not there in the MCE card. What is it? Could that be the problem if it's missing?

I guess it's RMA time. Sad

I'm not 100% exactly what it's for but I suspect that it ensures that the tuner is grounded with the rest of the case. All I know is that it's supposed to be there, or the card will be very susceptable to interference (this coming from the engineers at Hauppauge).

Every Hauppauge card I've seen has it, so I think you have grounds for returning that as "faulty".

My new card is due tomorrow from PC Alchemy. I purchased a new one and will return the old one for credit. They were very helpful. Hauppauge told them the "sponge" is not spec'd for this card, but they have included one with the new card anyway. I'll post the results after I get it installed.

Pulled out the old card, put in the new one as is (without sponge), fired it up and picture quality is.......great! Big Grin

RMA for the old bad card.

Moral of this story: Check things out but don't pull your hair out, sometimes it's not you or your system, it's just bad hardware. :p

I'll RMA then!

Do you think I can cross-shipping? I don't really want to have no TV... even if it's bad quality on some channel !
