It looks like the first post by birty2 was before he had all the facts then, and the second after he got some information. They are so behind the competition now unless they get the code H+M were working on i.e multiple tuners etc I personally can't see the point.

Well the wording suggests that the sale will give full access to the source - it's just in a non-exclusive form, i.e., you wouldn't be free to do just what you like with parts of it, as other parties also have rights in parts of it.

I don't know if it is a case of there not being any point but it certainly seems like a tough challenge and the question I see from the point of the consortium is whether it's actually a viable project.

Oh well, just my two penn'oth. We'll just have to see I suppose.
