I tried this myself tonight with the following results:

Pros -
'Seems' to be faster and more responsive once connected.
Doesn't have the cheesy play/pause/stop green icons.

Cons -
Doesn't play PAL avi's correctly (only appear in top half of the screen). Didn't have this problem before (checked with the same avi's).

This was enough to make me revert back to the dongle.bin bundled with gbpvr that I know works. :/

I am looking forward to gbpvr supporting this new build, looks promising. The beta did some things a lot better on my mvp's but was a bit buggy. Hopefully the release version has fixed the bugs.

Well, if there's any interest (probably more of a headache for sub than anything, so please don't ask him for help :-) ) the Beta MVP driver has now moved to version 3.2.24110b, but after my problems with the slightly earlier 3.0.24088 documented here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=15697 ... I think I will just stick with the old stable Hauppage release that comes with GBPVR's 96.12 and eagerly await sub's all-singing all-dancing gbpvr.bin in the next gbpvr release.

For those on the bleeding edge, here is the latest Hauppage MVP beta btw ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/MediaMVP...24110b.zip

Actually you can see what betas are available direct at this ftp site (no logins req'd)
ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/MediaMVP/Beta/ and you can also navigate to ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/PVR150/ and to ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/PVR150/Beta

The 150 also does the 500.

The SHSPVR forum thread doesn't look too healthy for the MVP 3.2.24110b BETA realease though. See
http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9800.15

k.

[EDIT] The wierdest thing on the site though, is this picture ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/001_24.jpg ...

OK. So that'll be the Hauppauge development team out enjoying themselves instead of fixing the bugs in the software. Hmmm. Rolleyes

Well it's quite a surprise that there are so many of them, always thought of him, instead of them.Big Grin

High everyone Smile

Just got this great program, and have managed to set most of it up fine, but having trouble setting up my two cards.... Wintv-Nova-t (909) and my Hauppauge HVR-1300 MCE. I have the HVR setup, but not sure how to get the nova-t setup, as i am having problems with the epg. Do i use both cards as device 1? If so they show up on channel list as bbc1 and bbc1(1), the later has no sound (also how do you switch when recording).

Any help would be appreciated. -----Keep up the great work-------

I suggest you start a new thread with your question, this thread is about something completely different. Welcome to the club, good luckSmile

Quote:The startup sequence has been changed in this newer version of the MVP software. I'll update GB-PVR in the next release to support it.

Before I take the plunge and update my mvp drivers does v0.97.7 now support this?? I can't see anything specific in the change log!!

I have v0.97.7 working fine

Yes, it should do. The message from the change log was:

Quote:- Added support for booting the newer "H" models of Hauppauge MVP. Dont use these new models with gbmvp.bin though - use dongle.bin (there has been some changes to the hardware it doesnt cope with yet).
The thing I failed to mention was that older models of MVP could also use these newer dongles that ship with the H models. Either way, it should support their slightly different boot up sequence.
