Thanks for the work and the info. I'll wait another week or so and try to get brave and make the switch.

Well, I just reinstalled my system from scratch, with a 24073 version of the 150 driver, and I'll be d**ned if I try another driver. I've been fiddling with the system for 2 days for hours.
The 24073 driver works for me - I get good tuning, and I get sound (hurray!).

Hmmm,

Well I went the whole hog and updated the drivers to 24108. The picture seems clearer and there is sound, hooray:-) ..

Two apparent side effects though.

1. Comskip marked the cut points OK just fine as usual, and I've had a working skip for 6 months, but it didn't work on two recordings last night. No skip.
2. Resume is all FUBAR too, it sometimes worked and sometimes not.

I say "apparent" as I haven't isolated the case, but I have done nothing else to the system.

Again I am wondering is it just my weak PVR system ( do the new drivers need more grunt e.g.?) or do I need a register of the filters or ..any ideas/similar experiecnes with these drivers.

k.

My guess would be that both of these items are non driver related.....your number 1 happens to me periodically with any drivers I have used......your #2 I am not really familiar with.....I don't let my PC go into a standby mode since in genral it can cause issues for background processes......

Update on my usage of the 24108 drivers.....Everything seems to be fine except for on thing that has occured enough times to have me concerned.

I have noticed on some recordings a spot or two where the video jumps in fast motion for a second of five.....I never noticed this with the 24054 drivers....I saw it one time with the 24073 drivers....but I did not have them installed too long before I went to the 245108 drivers.

I installed these new dvrs last night and they seem good to me. The recording and live tv quality are excellent. Interesting to note they are supposed to fix the "popping noise" that can occur on some systems. I suppose this is the "machine gun" noise I have experienced?

My only problem, a long-standing one that these dvrs don't fix, is where a reboot causes a loss of audio in both my 150's till a channel change is made.

24073 was a mess for me, sometimes no sound, sometimes no video sometimes neither one. 24103 has been fine so far, the timeline issue seems to be better as well.

I wanted to provide an update on the video jumping I was experieincing....since my original post (4/24) it has not reoccured....I guess I scared it away. I have been through about 20 hours or so of recordings and they all seem just fine.

Suddenly, I started getting full/normal sized recordings but when I tried to view them after being recorded only played as partial recordings (ex. an hour long recording showed up as an eight minute video). I tried playing these back on another windows machine using mplayer and I could see that the video was all recorded but when fast forwarding the time elapse would jump around 'funny'. Is this the timeline issue? I had no problems with the driver (24054) until just recently when this quirky behavior started.

I decided that I should try the new drivers (24108) to see if it fixed this issue. It didn't. I'm still having the timing issues, and when watching some videos, it seems to jump forward without warning.

I'm no expert when messing with drivers, but what I did was stop all gpvr processes, run hwclear, shutdown, unplug power for 20 seconds, boot, pick location of drivers (inf files), install, reboot. Is this the correct procedure?

I was satisified with the quality of the older driver, but right now it seems that my pvr is almost useless until the time sync problem is solved. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Yes.

This driver does produce this effect but not all the time.

Did you add the registry items? If not, search for "PVR 150 timestamp" and look at Sub's post.

Should do, but without the registry bits (and a reboot after adding them) it won't have any effect at all.

I hope I was helpful.
