tipstir Wrote:I am been testing the arp under gbpvr, well actually under a pc that keeps on getting a redirect connection error.

power down the mvp

test and see what you get at the dos prompt: arp -a

ip mac type
default gateway ip or another pc ip

turn on both mvps

type arp -a

pc ip mac type
mvp ip mac type
mvp ip mac type

don't know if you're tried:

netsh interface ip delete arpcache
Shutting down the server clears the ARP cache, so not sure what this would help. Doing "arp -a" right now shows the ARP mapping for another machine and the one MVP that is powered on right now. My guess is that there must be some algorithm that tells the MVPs what ports to connect to for their control and stream connections. Is this control mechanism in the recording service? I don't know enough about this mechanism, but it must be giving out the wrong information.

Replaytv, do you have XP or 2003? I'm guessing 2003 might be the issue here based on joecru's response. Although, 2003 Enterprise may be a little bit of overkill Rolleyes. You may need to upgrade to Datacenter if that doesn't do it for you...

Tipstir,

Do you have 0.97.7 running on a Win 2003 Server if so what is your server set as. File Server or do you have it set for terminal server etc in your Manage Server settings.

I did....

Unfortunately, I am not home right now and cannot power up the other MVPs, but I can remote to my server.

This is showing that your .102 MVP connected both the control and data channels to a single process, but the .105 connected to different processes. Same thing that happens to me. If you restart the recording service, each MVP has a chance of connecting to a single process and it will come up and work, but only a chance...

Hi managed to get 3 x MVPs working by manually starting x GBPVR Media servers in the Start\GBPVR menu can't seem to get the forth started even though I started 8 x GBPVR Media servers. All playing different things and seem to be ok. May these servers arn't starting on bootup, even if you have them configured on config.Where can you check that they are starting up. On old ver GBPVR you could see them at the bottom of the screen now theres nothing or how to you get them to start on bootup if not working through Config.?

You can open task manager or replace it with another great tool from SysInternals called Process Explorer. I see all of mine start up.

I guess starting them up one at a time manually and powering on a single MVP after each process is started might be a workaround to getting more than 1 MVP connected. I'll need to give it a try.

Ran the Process Explorer and on bootup GBPVR loads 4 x GBPVR.exe in the processes under GBPVRRecorderservices should it not be GBPVR MediaServer it should be starting. Can you guys confirm if this is correct?
