and what to do with the 4 batch files included in the latest release ?

The strangest thing though, it runs fine on a XP machine.......

OK the path error... I noticed, that I started having that when I was playing around. I finally had to blow out reg entries, therfore you should to...

And what do you do with those batch files? Nothing. They're there for example. But I read in another thread, you can use them instead of using the 'Open with...' menu as detailed in my Web Page. You can just drop those into your SendTo folder, and then your have a right click menu using 'Send to...'

For the moment let's not worry about that...(Good you noticed them though. That means your're getting the 'hourly updates' )

Do you have your stuff in the default directories?
gbpvr=c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
comskip=c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
comclean=c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
retime=c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr

ffmpeg and fmpeg=c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\third party\ffmpeg

After the dust settled, I ended up with version 1.0.0.289 (right click, properities. version tab)

I'll crank on something to write to a log as it tests paths...

talk to you soon...

With the RemoveZprocess.reg or manually deleting all the reg enties Zprocess.reg has created?

yes
no
no
no, 'cause I don't use these utilities, are they nessecary for ZProcess?
I don't use them in ZProcess either, only use the Transcode function.

yep

So do I

That would be helpfull, although I've noticed it already writes a log file, but only with the started/completed tasks so it's not an error log.

I was wondering if it was possible to make it a stand alone application. So no need of GB-PVR dirs just all in one place.... in that case you could use it on any computer to transcode your files so the GB-PVR machine can go on doing the things it should (like keeping the wife happyWink ) and besides that, by altering the original ffmpeg.exe all the correct scaled avi's (512x384) won't play fullscreen.
And I've got a lot of them for the kids.

I Meant using the RemoveZprocess.reg

OK. So the latest version checks for paths a lot. And even forces you to create a couple of paths. Refer to my page, under 'Directories'.

I noticed that you don't use those other utilities. I never even thought of that! OK.

I will make the few mods, so that if those files aren't there, ZProcess won't freak

Well, it already does that. I have the one computer, transcoding away, while the Main server is serving the MVP. If this isn't happening for you, let's tshoot that...

All right. Thanks for your patience! 512x384 is perfect 4x3, and I thought I had code that would over write whatever Output width or height you end up with. You're right there shouldn't be any reformatting.

I know what the problem might be. I'll be back...

BTW Sumo, With your Trans2MVP Profile, what is the Output width and height that you were able to get the correct picture...?

(Or have you still been unable to get that part working...)

OK, I tried ZProcess out with a 512x384 AVI. I set ZProcess to use the Trans2MVP profile. I zeroed out everything and tried it with several different Output sizes...

All of them took the 4x3 and did not squish them...

It seems that my logic worked. No update on this issue..

Updated and uploaded the new program file that will now allow you to 'not' have comskip on your computer.

Modified date: July 11, 2006, 4:05:36 PM

ZProcess actually uses the default GB-PVR path for the other utilities so that shouldn't be a problem.

I guess if you're not interested in the other processing utilities don't install or use them...

Cheers

Uncle, could you do a favour for me please?

I may have broken something. Could you download the zip file, run the RemoveZProces.reg to kill the settings, Setup the settings again, and run a couple of avi's through your MVP?

Thta would help me a lot... Thanks

Sorry, haven't got it working, but haven't tried either. Have to get ZProcess running while I'm at work. Sounds strange but its holliday season here and there's nothing to do so I can start playing stupid card games or RD to my server and play around with ZProcess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: OK Got it working now, I'll run some 1 minute encodings when I'm home to check for correct PAL dimension/output settings)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the actual output testing can only be done at home, when the family has gone to bed.
I'll keep you posted !

Euhmmm I guess I wasn't clear on that one, what I meant by "standalone" was to make an Installer, that copies all the needed files into 1 folder (C:\Program Files\ZProcess), auto creates the folders it needs and registers the prog. Without the need of having GB-PV installed (ZProcess does look for GBPVR.exe but it would be nice if it doesn't need it)
As far as I know, ffmpeg may be freely distributed. dono about comskip etc. ... so maybe........or am I talking cr@p right now ?

Before I "break" my setup Wink I can see your reg file is incorrect....you have it removing hkey_local_machine when the settings are in hkey_current_user.....is that really the problem?
