Noob Question About Transcoding!

Try the latest version of GB-PVR (v0.98.13). There was a bug in v0.98.8 that could cause this.

Well, If I upgrade will I lose everything that I had before (recordings database, settings, etc.)

No, but as Sub advises in the release notes, backup your config file and database just in case.
