Ok I am new here, Already did a bunch of searching and am having little to no luck

I have an Avermedia M150 Plus Capture card, GBPVR recongnizes it, but when i try to open the application, A window pops up that is supposed to be it but all i see is a window outline and the the desktop behind it.

the status is that it is always sleeping

I can use the tuner assistance and see all of my 20 cable channels

Using a Upgraded Compaq Evo510..w/ 22" philips tv

Is there anything i am missing

Windows XP SP2?
Pentium 4
Media Center 10
Direct X9.0
200 GB HD
256 RAM....getting upgraded soon
the runtime 2.0 is in
and Windows update 3.1 is done

So what could i be missing?

Thanks

This is usually a sign of an inadequate video card. What video card do you have?

If you post your pvrx2.exe-native.log I can usually tell if the card is not up to it.

Most modern nvidia or ati cards are good, but most of these are PCIe, which your machine may or may not have. I'm not sure what's cheap in your part of the world.

K I will get on that... the computer I am using has no internet access, I will have to jump drive it here....I think I know how to access the .exe file, If not I will be back

cheap is relative term i guess some reasonable suggestions for cards is fine

Thanks

Yeah, it'll be your NVIDIA Vanta causing the empty frame. Its too old, and not able to allocate the large textures GB-PVR needs. Sorry.

Up to you really. I guessing it depends on your financial situation, or if you've already been wanting to move to a newer computer.

Ok, well I will probrably research videos cards and see what I can find, This is a purely DVR setup, not at all for personal computing, so I will see if i can stick with this and see where it gets me. If it crashes and burns, hey no harm the computer was free and all i have stuck in it are the Media card ($30 U.S.) and the Hard Drive ($35 U.S.)

thanks for the help, It is really appreciated!
