The AVerTV Purity 3D MCE 500 is not 2 AveryTV 250MCE but also a VIXS chipset like the Saber2020 and nVidia DualTV. Testing tomorrow.

Not taht I don;t believe you, but do you have a source for these, just so I can quote it? I ask as someone else mentioned what was written, so that's a conflict right there.

I have a purity 500 MCE and it says VIXS II right on the chip. I'll get pics up soon.

I was hoping for the MPEG4 encoding myself. The VIXS II chipsets are able to do transcoding (like the DualTV in MCE)

It was confirmed with the PCAlchamey guys on the HTPC News forums.

We have a sample at pcalchemy.com, have had one for 6 months. Basically as an ATSC tuner card it works great, however since it is a hybrid design for NTSC (analog) it requires a software MPEG encoder. This is why we are selling it as an ATSC card only.

Will get the pics up soon. Sorry haven't been hanging around lately since the job change and studying for my certs. luckily school ended.

It is a dual ATSC Card for digital but for analog it uses a software encoder.

It's a dual ATSC/QAM 64 & 256
They got it working with GBPVR

Hey guys how about a bit of feed back for these cards, i want to put a hauppage nova t 500 dual pci or the pinacle equiv in my mcpc, only thing is i have a lic for win2k and dont reallly want to fork out the money for xp/xpmc (or the extra hd space)
Any volunteers with these cards willing to set em up and try em???

I use the M780 with BeyondTV however I have not tried yet with GBPVR hopefully will be testing it out this weekend. It should not be a problem seeing as how it includes the needed BDA drivers.
