otto_technica Wrote:I hate to play "me too", but I am also seeing this same problem on a new installation. Unfortunately, I tried the I-xmltv plug-in and it did not work.

I-xmltv appears to have updated correctly and my channels even appeared in the config utility (though, I noticed that they were all disabled and stayed that way when I reopened the utility even after I checked them all).

Everyone should report the problem on the zap2it forum (I did months ago) so they can get an idea of how many people are affected.
But remember, xmltv.exe is the downloader, I-xmltv simply enhances the listings after xmltv grabs them from data direct (zap2it).Wink On the zap2it forum, be sure to post that you are having “start time / end time” or "single day" or "only receiving one-hour of data" issues when downloading with gbpvr or xmltv.

I-xmltv.log does log xmltv / zap2it messages, and counts the listings that were downloaded.
If you post (or look at) your I-xmltv.log & xmltv.log, and say how many channels / days you are trying to download it will tell us more. The size of xmltv.xml & TVGuide.xml is a good indicator. I download 64-channels and 14-days, 26797 Listings, xmltv.xml is 18,513 KB, TVGuide.xml is 19,594 KB.
If the size of your download is appropriate, you may just have a gbpvr configuration problem.

PS.
I get the start time / end time messages when I download my listings each evening, but I can still get the listings.
I'm not going to spend a bunch of time on this problem because my setup's working fine and its not something I can fix, it's something zap2it needs to address.

I probably could have been more succinct in my description. I'm not getting the "Start Time/End Time Error". I appear to have no problem downloading from zap2it,but I can add this to that forum. I'm just concerned that the data isn't crossing to GBPVR. I'll investigate further.

Every time I attempt to load live TV or the schedule, I receive a message to Update EPG.

Maybe I'm just cursed.

No worries, just like to see everyone up and working if possible.
Probably best to do an epg update, let it complete without closing any DOS windows or anything, then post your complete set of gbpvr logs.
If you include the I-xmltv.log (from the I-xmltv folder) I’ll check it to make sure there isn’t an obvious problem there.

As requested...
I rolled up every current log I could find in hopes there was an answer in there.

The I-xmltv log looks ok, 15,000+ listings.
I’m not an expert on reading gbpvr logs but one of the messages indicates that no channels have been configured.

Code:
11/12/2006 6:19:35 PM.870    VERBOSE    [1]    exception: GBPVR.Backend.Common.GbpvrException: No channels have been set up. Please run the Configuration utility and setup the EPG source. Use the 'Update EPG' button to force the system to import the latest set of channel and programme information.

Is your epg source configured as shown in this post?

Yes, it is. In fact, this is the error message I see every time I try to view live TV in GBPVR.

Time for sub to take a look, but as far as I can tell you have a valid xmltv epg file.

If it were me, I’d start by doing a clean gbpvr install and leave the error reporting level at debug. I-xmltv appears to be working properly so there is no need to reinstall it.
Remember to save your UpdateEPG.bat when you delete the gbpvr folder.
Good luck,
Jim

Did you setup your capture, configure it for XMLTV and point it to you file? If so, click the update epg button, let it complete then zip and attach your config.exe.log.

Here we go. Note that I just did...

1. Backed up the UpdateEPG.bat
2. Uninstalled GB-PVR (Add/Remove Programs)
3. Deleted C:\Program Files\devnz
4. Downloaded GB-PVR from http://www.gbpvr.com (GBPVR09813.msi)
5. Installed GB-PVR using default settings.
6. Configured playback, Capture sources (XMLTV plugin) (See graphic - note that this is after forcing an UpdateEPG. The channels were all enabled the first time I configured), Directories (N: drive), DVD Playback (Intervideo, ffdshow, DirectSound)
7. Restored UpdateEPG.bat.

I'm guessing you've got an ATSC digital device, but havnt dont the 'map digital channels to EPG channels' step? You need to do this scan for digital channels, and to map each of the channels. If you dont do this, each channel not mapped will be disabled (ie, all of them if you didnt do this step).
