rcoxims Wrote:I have CC in the MVP playback already using GB-PVR v0.99.5 and the latest drivers for my 150. Assuming you have srt files created:

In the Misc panel of the configuration, check 'Enable SRT viewer'.

There is a configuration in config.xml
<SubtitleDelayMVP> which you can use to tweak when the subtitles start
with your MVP.

-1000 works fine for me. (delay by 1000 ms).

Hope this helps...
rcoxims, see http://www.robson.org/capfaq/look.html#AvailableStyles The srt files playback on the MVP. The new problem, and unrelated to the original post, is that when the srt files are created from roll-up CC with mpg2srt the way they display is harder to read than in the original CC format.

It seems you confused CC and srt. GBPVR can play both. The MVP can only play srt. It would be nice if the MVP could play CC.

By the way, there are non-GBPVR users with the roll-up one letter at a time problem.

Until merrypig fixes roll-up in mpg2srt I may go back to using it and CC concurrently and then toggle SRT off with the Yellow button on the server, and toggle SRT on on the MVP. If the roll-up appears on the MVP I will toggle SRT off.

You can adjust the placement by tweaking the skin OSD\skin.xml file.

Sub, I am in Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\OSD\skin.xml and that is where I had adjusted for the subtitles on the server back in February, but I hadn't seen a difference on the MVP then. Where exactly in the skin is the subtitle positioning for the MVP?

There is no difference between PC and MVP. See the "SubtitlesOnly" composite image in the skin.xml file.

Okay, I tried it again and made the same changes I made in February and now I see that the problem wasn't the placement but how that it would flash on the MVP. This is where I find how bad of a memory I have and how bad I documented the problem. Maybe the flashing is a product of timing and I didn't realize it, even though rcoxims hinted at it. I'll play with timing and see what changes.

subtitles on the MVP is pretty much going to suck while its done the current way (at the GB-PVR end). GB-PVR has very little control over timing of these things displaying on the MVP.

The only way to improve this stuff would be to have the MVP software itself showing the subtitle, but that wouldnt work for SRT files. It would need to be subtitles embedded in the MPEG file.

Do you mean reencoded as part of the picture?
