Ok, please pardon my ignorance. I thought I knew how to write a batch file with this switch, but so far my attempts have proved fruitless.
I Created a batch file with

GBPVR -UpdateEPGOnly

but nothing seems to happen.
Please tell me what I am missing.

Dai...your idea of using a custom task would work great if only I could get this batch file to work.

it supposed to be:

GBPVR -UpdateEPG

That did the trick. I had a case of dyslexia.

"-OnlyUpdataEPG" not "-UpdateEPGOnly"
