Thats what I did. I just did it again and compared files. They are identical. I think I am going to uninstall and resinstall gbpvr. Something seems very strange with it. Like I mentioned above, its like the main program I open is not related to the config file. And apparently not related to the files in the log either.
I will let you know what happens after I do all that.
Thanks for the help. Smile

zip and attach your entire 'logs' directory and I'll take a look.

I still have the same problem. I have uninstalled the program. deleted the devnz folder and removed all references to devnz in the registry. I then reinstalled the program. I tried to see if it would scan the channels without any tweaking. It had the same problem as before. I then replaced the nativeutilities.dll file with the one I got here yesterday. After that I was able to go back and scan the channels and pick up all the locals channels. But when I went back to the main program it still has the same problem as before. When I click on live tv, I get a message that says I have not set up any channels yet. I will include the entire log folder this time. If you see anything that might help please let me know. I am thinking that maybe I need to wait awhile until some more people with vista start trying to use this. I get the feeling that I am one of the first people to try to get this hardware to work with gbpvr and vista. I guess thats what I get for having all the new toys. Smile
Thanks,
James

If you reunning on vista, it may be the file protection stuff getting in the way. Try deleting the directory C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\devnz. "AppData" is hidden, so you'll need to type it's name into the address bar.

That seemed to do the trick. After deleting that folder, it started to work correctly. I then shut down the computer and restarted (since that seemed to change things last night) and it still works. I will keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help.

I dont know if I should be starting a new thread for this, so I apologize if I should be.
I have one more problem that I am unable to resolve. When I record a tv show, I am unable to view it in gb-pvr. I am recording HD content and it is being saved as a dvr-ms file. I am able to open the file in windows media player and watch it with no problems but when I go try to view it in gbpvr, I get an error message on the bottom of the screen that says "the color scheme has been changed in vista home basic, a running program isn't compatible with windows vista" and another error in a box that says "gb-pvr has stopped working" I am guessing I have the codecs I need since I am able to play the file in windows media player. Any ideas for how to get gbpvr to play the file?
Thanks, James

This bit happens because you're using the Overlay video renderer. If you use VMR you shouldnt get this. What decoders do you have selected in the playback tab of the config app? Dont use 'system default'.

I changed it to VMR and got the same results. The decoders I have installed are the cyberlink video and the hauppauge-main concept. I tried installed fddshow but for some reason it only shows up in the audio decoder section and not the video decoder section. Is there something else I need to do? Or should I try another decoder?

Its worth noting that by default the Cyberlink decoder isnt compatible with VMR, so using this decoder will usuallt use Overlay regardless of whether you've configured it for VMR - which will result in this 'the color scheme has been changed to vista home basic' message on Vista.

Reproduce the problem with VMR9 and the MPV decoder (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm), then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Given its working in Windows Media Player, it can only be something to do with decoders.
