Dumb question and one I'm sure was discussed somewhere in the 40 pages of discussion but how do you get the UUID from TitanTV? I've been an member for about 18 months and am not familar with it.
Thanks

Well, I used the same UUID as the one pictured and it worked! Didn't take long at all to bring down 3 days of listings.
Great work here. I like where this is going though I wish Zap2it would just take a few $$$ from us each month and leave things be.
When this is all finalized, someone should post this on the wiki explaining exactly how to incorporate this with GBPVR since it does require just a bit of patience.

pcostanza,

I missed that in the huge amount of stuff in the last thread too.

However, if you look at the partner pages stuff on titan tv, it looks like they have developed an interface which will accept name, etc. then return a registration, which should have a unique uuid in it...

Somebody more clever than me just needs to write a simple interface that sends them the data they want, then records the data coming back. That would seem to me to be the best way to do it. Easier even than Zap2It where we have to go to their site to register.

I don't know what to tell you, maybe Sub can take a look at the file... there are lost of channels with 0 as channel id... maybe that is what is wrong... but that is what the titantv's soap service returns...

That partner page was

http://www.titantv.com/Services/PartnerTools.asmx

as most of the viewers of this thread probably already know.

I just downloaded this and it worked fine for 3 days with the UUID from google. I'm glad there is a potential solution for this problem so soon after Zap2it made its announcement. Cheers to ioan.

I already tried it... no luck. The CreateTitanTvAccount from the PartnerTools SOAP returns an UUID, but that UUID is not accepted by the listing function on the other SOAP interface. The UUID from PartnerTools has limited access to the PartnerTools functions.

It looks like we simply need to determine what the partnerid for hauppage is, along with the productid and version for a couple of their boards / wintv listings grabbers are.

Then we can simply submit via html or soap and it returns a loginname and a uuid.

So now the hard part is finding out what those are.

Alternatively, the major capture boards all seem to have partner relationships in place with titan. It is plausible that we should be able to register using the relationship that goes directly with our capture card, if we can find and classify those codes correctly.

I will start googling to see what I can find.

ioan,

you beat me to the punch.

Did you use the partner id from a supported card, or one from Google?

I am just wondering if others think the effort to use the partner site interface for uuid generation is a waste of time?

Maybe you should use the channel name as the id when titanttv returns the channel '0' (still use the channel number when not zero). Having multiple channels with the id of zero will break things.
