It doesnt know if a programme is a repeat, since this is also not a commonly seen field in xmltv. This is why there is no functionality in GB-PVR that makes use of this.

You zap2it guys have had it good up until now. The rest of us have had comparitively poor data.

-Oz- Wrote:so whulston, how does the program know what channel exists if there isn't a channel number but rather some random code like the url thing above?

You dont have to use the reference number method.
The channel number works fine when used in this format. This is from the "Find Channel" that is generated by I-xmltv.

Code:
<tv generator="I-xmltv">
  <channel id="2">
    <display-name>FIND</display-name>
  </channel>
  <programme start="20070628000000" stop="20070628003000" channel="2">
    <title>Pilot Premiere</title>
    <desc>-TEXT-  Find More: In Title, Subtitle, Description</desc>
    <episode-num system="dd_progid">SH000001.0000</episode-num>
  </programme>
</tv>

Yea I’ve seen some of the data you guys have to live with, and what you have to go through to get it.

I always had a chuckle reading the posts complaining about taking a questioner every three months.

How does it work where the channels have multiple display names like FX, 48 FX, FX Networks. How does GB-PVR know which one to use?

I don't have access to my mediapc and won't be changing anything on my parents' so I won't be installing i-xmltv so I'll just go off that sample you posted as things I can include.

From memory it'll only use the first display-name for each channel in the xmltv file, so only add the single display name you want to be used. In the above example, I'd use "FX".

Whurlston, OZ, ioan, and anyone else working on a epg grabber.
I just remembered something that is reasonably important (I’m remembering things as I slowly recover from the initial shock of loosing my epg!).

Yahoo is based on zap2it and zap2it didn’t add a movie genre to movie listings by default. The movie genre needed to be added manually by looking for MV in the unique-ID field.

I know you guys are early in the development stage and Titan & Yahoo may have a movie genre added by default, but I thought it was worth mentioning early on.
