I love the XSearch feature - I think I've used that for about 2 years, now. I don't even look at the EPG guide anymore (unless I'm having problems finding my show).

I like the way XRecord organizes my recordings (available, pending, watched). I use the system status plugin, also, and I like the way it integrates into XRecord.

I love the simplicity of being able to just choose a show visually as is the default of XRecord, and it's really easier for the rest of the family to just choose XRecord and choose a show. I also use the PIN control in XRecord for those shows I don't want the kids to open. I also use the Manual Recordings for when my EPG is all whacked out.

But I use GBPVR's native TV Guide, somehow XGuide just doesn't cut it for me.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'm the rare XGuide user. I like the multiple guides popup. I created one for sports channels, one for movie channels, one for news channels, on for the major US networks, one for local channels and one for my wife's favorite channels. I guess gb-pvr has this feature now but I hate changing my habits.

Tip for XSearch users in this post in case you don't already use a History.txt file to reduce typing. For example:

I think remembering that plugins are for keeping things interesting for some but seeing what features are popular for future inclusion in new revs by sub is important for growth.
With that said, I used the xguide mainly.
I liked the customizing that it offered.
A cheat-cheat of what has been blended in 1.0.8 would be helpful.

How about getting suggestions for additional features that sub doesn't use?

Xrecord has to be my most used plugin out of all of them. That is all I and the wife use!

I'm still quite sad that some kind of basic archive function isn't built into GBPVR and also that 'Videos' can't handle descriptions. I find X-Record solves both these issues beautifully and is a much more simple and elegant solution then VA . I really hope it will be developed for 1.08 Wink

This is oneof my main reasons too

it is very easy to organize recordings - and my own videcamera mpg footage to show up in "folders" in Xrecord.

What he said... I'd like a wish though, the recordings get moved, but the entry is still in XRecord (or is that not supposed to happen?). I'd like to see an "Archived Recordings" list (with icons etc.) like XRecord has. i.e. does it remove the entry from recordings, but not from XRecord (recordings)?

I love everything about XRecord except for one tiny thing, though, I don't like the name, XRecord, it just doesn't flow nicely, for me at least, with the rest of the Main Menu, and I have it as my number one selection.

It's hardcoded. Do other plugins have configurable names?

The video archive plug-in has a configurable name as does music player. I thin most are hard coded however.
