ok but i have three tuners and only shortland st was scheduled then one other program
im just thinking as i write this maybe the other tuner arnt been used for tv2
i thought i did have that setting but il go back and check i know i used to
thanks anyway ill post an answer on how i was wrong was yet again

As I said above, it is still possible to get back to back recordings on the same tuner if you've got several recordings in short period of time and are unlucky enough to have them created in a certain order.

Also note that if you've just changed that setting, it'll only apply to new recordings schedule, not those that are already pending.

This is nothing new though, and was exactly the same in previous releases.

Its also important to note that this setting is only recommended if you have more than two tuners. With two or less you should leave it set to 'false'.

My GF has complained a few times in the past about the ends of shows getting chopped, this would explain it. Since i have 6 tuners i think i'll turn that settings on. What version was it introduced in?

I'm not sure. It was about a year and a half ago. Its off be default since it often leads to conflicts on two tuner systems.

ok ive re added it
checked the config
checked that tv2 can be recorded on all tuners
restarted (maybe thats why! it hasnt crashed since installing new version)

Remember it'll only apply to new recordings schedule, not those that are already pending.
