I read the above post after finding it on google. This is in reply to both Oz and taz. I tried opening the GBPVR.db3 file in notepad, don't recommend it :-). In fact, I messed it up so much that it crashed the config program after I tried to open it. So I deleted it. The only thing left to do then was enter the yahoo xml file as the target file for XMLTV under the Capture Sources tab. Config rebuilt the db3 file from scratch, so after that I just followed Oz's instructions, at least those which still applied, as most of the channel data was then gone, but no other data was lost.
Quote:"I was messing around with mine today, here's what I did.

* open the capture source
* manually delete every single channel
* click ok
* remove all the channels from the other tuner
* click ok
* load the yapi2xml xml file for the first tuner
* load the yapi2xml xml file for the second tuner
* go to the channels tab and click remove all unreferenced channels"
So in short, thanks to both of you, who saved me, literally, from a massive headache, and I guess to let you know that what works best is to just delete the db3 file, which is an sqlite file. After that, just update the EPG for yapi2xml, then add it as the XMLTV Capture Source, then click ok, then repeat for other tuners, I guess, and finally remove all unreferenced channels, which will add the channels from the xml file even though nothing is there initially. This worked perfectly for me. The only symptom I had had at the start to set me down this path was pressing the number on my remote for some channels, and getting no response. So if anyone else is getting this strange behavior, your remote is fine. It's the doubling of channels between the Capture Sources tab and the Channels tab. It must be some sort of sqlite corruption of the database file, but deleting that db3 file resets it without losing any other configurations. Hope it helps someone. --BillSmile

I had the same problem when I converted to 1.0.16; however the above instructions were too complicated for me even if they do fix the problem so I was prepared to live with them out of order. However, today as I look at the config panel under channels, I noticed that I could add the channel numbers beside the channel names (which also has numbers in it) and when I saved the config, all my channel numbers are now in order in the TV guide.

I'm still having similar problems. I'm using GBPVr 0.16. With the demise of Zap2it, I started using DrLava's MSN scraper from Planet Replay for the EPG. When I first installed it, I completely deleted the capture source and set it up from scratch, and it was working fine. Then after a while I found some recordings that were all "snow" as if the cable was disconnected. When I got done chasing that idea, I started investigating the software and found that at the end of my channel lineup in Config, the chanel sequence began all over again, so I had channels 2...71, followed by 2,3,4 again, BUT the "source channel" column was correct for the first range of channels 2...71 and then for the second instance of channel 2 it was filled in beginning at 72 and incrementing upward, so that when I was trying to record 44 it was acctually tuning to 103 or something. The second group of channels also did not include the call letters, just the channel numbers.

I don't know why it chose the second instance of channel 44 instead of the first which was correct.

I deleted the entire capture source and created a new one and all was OK for a few days, and it happened again.

Not wanting to lose all my scheduled recordings again, this time I manually deleted all of the extra channels, one by one. (sub - it would be handy if one could select a range here)

That has been ok so far, but now, the channel lineup in GBPVR is all mixed up. The XML file looks good, here is a sample:

Code:

- <tv generator-info-name="MSN_XMLTV_DownloaderV0.56" source-info-name="tv.msn.com">
-

 <display-name>2 (WPBT) PBS</display-name>

-

 <display-name>3 (WPTV) NBC</display-name>

-

 <display-name>4 (WTVX) CW</display-name>

and the channel order in the config program is OK, but it is a mess in GBVPR.

I have the MSN TV Guide scraper running as a scheduled task at 2:00 AM, and inside GBPVR have the EPG update running at 4:00 AM. When I tried linking the batch file directly from GBPVR, it hung up every time. I think maybe it wasn't waiting long enough for the XML file to be updated, but that's just a guess. Anyway, apart from the channel order, this procedure seems to be working fine.

Suggestions appreciatedSmile
