I hope work isn't your life. We have to work hard but enjoy our time off.

That is what is so nice about it, you get a workout in the comfort of your home while playing something enjoyable. Of course, you can learn to do minimal work while playing but then why even play.

pastro Wrote:own one, use it once or twice a week. Been a little disappointed with the game selection that is available now. Sports is good, but I haven't seen any other killer titiles.
Kids have HP OOTP and say that is good, but zelda and others weren't that great.
All I play is sports. Now I workout at the gym 5 days a week, but I still want to do something active when at home, not much on TV lately. I had a goal of being pro in all sport competitions and getting a gold on all training and getting an age 20 on every fitness test. I only have a few golds and boxing competition left to meet the first two. I have made age 20 only 2 times but I almost never score above age 30 in fitness.
Resident Evil 4 is rated very highly. The killer titles will come out this fall and winter. Medal of Honor will supposedly be very cool and may come with online play. I am hoping FIFA 08 and the Wiifit will be good.

What can we do with the ID? I'll look mine up and post it, I just don't know what the usefulness is. Sorry for the ignorance.

as for other systems, in my apt. I have a xbox, dreamcast, and an N64, as well as 2 DS(s??).
other systems that I have owned (or my parents got for me and my brothers) are 2 Nintendos (NES), a super nintendo, sega genesis, sega saturn, Playstation, PS2, 3xGame boys (had 2 brothers), and a game gear: these are all somewhere in my parents house. I also gave my Gamecube away to my girlfriend's brothers when i got the wii, since its fully backwards compatible.
Wii is the first console I have ever owned since a TI computer that had Atari like games and had BASIC programming back in the early 80's

I voted the 'Don't have one, don't care..." option.

I've played a lot of computer games (and written a few) since I had my first computer back in 1980, but these days I can't see the point in games consoles - I've owned or played a few and they were mildly (or too) distracting for a time but that was it.

At the moment, my own life is way more surreal than anything I've ever seen in a video game. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

All it took was one session with the Wii to see this was something completely different.

Visited a new acquaintance's home with some other people, the home of a 70+ yr old couple, saw the Wii and thought "Ah, sweet... the have a Wii for their great grandkids to play." Later George, the old guy, says "Hey, who wants to play the Wii?" Turns out he doesn't let the little grandkids play it - afriad they'll break it.

He and his wife play everyday, and they're darn good! Before you knew it every adult and kid in the house was taking turns - all ages, 12-75 - and it was a blast! The couple had 4 controllers and 2 nunchucks because they love getting everyone involved, and once you see it, everyone wants to get involved. There's something completely different about a game that requires you to get off the couch and be active. Heck, with boxing I worked up a serious sweat!

I bought one within two weeks for my kids and am glad I did. It's truly redefines game play.

yeah, RE4 is really good on the wii, they actually did the control scheme properly, it feels much more natural to actually aim and shoot at things.

CoD3 is ok, but they could have dome much better with their implementation of the aiming, like only moving the screen when you aimed of screen, instead of forcing you to try and aim at the exact center of the screen. which is frustrating
