I use the MCE remote & IR on my new slave computer. I installed the MCE replacement driver (http://burningzeroad.free.fr/MceIrApi.rar ) and I use EventGhost (http://www.eventghost.org/ ) to send commands to GB-PVR. I tweaked a few of the remote settings (like using the green "jewel" button to start PVRX2). It works really nice, was reasonably priced, and the set-up didn't take too long. My main computer just uses the PVR-350 remote & IR receiver - no programming! Big Grin

I'm looking now at getting the Hauppauge 500 w/ remote for this box. I wanted dual tuners anyway. (With my existing single tuner, this would give me 3 tuners!!!) This should resolve my remote issues.

Schedules Direct is working.

GameZone is working with Nes, PSX, Turbo Graphix, and Mame (sorta, need to spend more time with it.)

The logitech gamepad I got works great, tho it's not wireless.

Maybe this week(end) I'll get to move everything into the new case.

Once I have a working remote and it's in the new case, we'll move it into the entertainment center.

Possible future add-ons:
500Gb SATA drive
1 more gamepad (maybe wireless)
Wireless keyboard/mouse combo

Plugins I'm using:
GameZone
Weather
Cinema
Web Radio
Web Streams
Music Player 2
(Stock Recordings, Pictures, Video Library)

Don't need dual tuners... I already have a working card... I'll just get a single Hauppauge w/ Remote.

Update:

GameZone ROCKS!!!
So far I've got:
Nes
Super Nes
Game Boy Advance
Nes 64
Genesis
PSX
Turbo Graphix
Mame
and Atari 2600

w/ 2 Logitech gamepads
(I have to load up a few of my favorite PC games)

Hardware:
AverMedia 150
Hauppauge 150 MCE w/ Remote (some issues on the remote)
Intel P4 HT 3.0GHz
1 Gb RAM
120Gb SATA for booting and music
160Gb SATA for videos and games
DVD +/-RW
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Desktop Case (a little big, but everything still barely fits)

And of course, the best software out there... (free or otherwise)
GBPVR!!!

Sorry if this sounds like a corny post, but I'm Psyched!!! Dual tuners (I can swap one out for Hi-Def if I ever want to, and still get regular stuff.) My wife even likes it.

Just being able to browse our pictures at the click of a button, rocks!

I'm going to move it up to the living room this week, then I'll work on getting the MVP in the bedroom.

I have some tweaking of settings yet.
Need to get the remote working.
Have to try out 2 controllers in some games.
I want to get Music Library to the latest version.
And I still want to try downloaded rentals, and that needs to be smoother.

Considering my experiences... how would folks feel about me working on a 'GBPVR for dummies' step-by-step guide?

i've been very happy w/m MVP, but the new PVRX2 animated interface is just too cool not to be seen on my TV. I'm not ready to jump just yet. I think I want to take the leap from SD to HD and move to a STB. but i think a guide would be a great addition to the wiki.

So, got the remote working: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?t=29849

Upgraded Music Library 2 to the latest stable version. (6.5)

Dual tuners are working!

IT'S ALIVE!!!

It's sitting in my living room (as of 12:04AM this morning). I have to decide the best course of action for hooking it into my home theater receiver. I think that I'm going to input it to the Satellite inputs, since then I'll be able to use my SPDIF connection for surround sound.

Then I'll have Video 1 Out feeding into my AV ports on my Aver Media card.

When I'm all done, it's hooked up, and I have some time, maybe I can put together a top to bottom guide, labelling sections that are optional, and which parts are MVP friendly. (Like how GameZone doesn't happen on MVP, cause the MVP doesn't have ports for controllers or keyboard.)

Of course, all it will be is a collection of all the helpful information I've received from you the user community.
