No, you cant do it in GB-PVR.

I'm not really sure what tool to suggest for this. Some manufacturers like Twinhan provide tools for doing this, but I dont think Hauppauge does. If you'd been using a DVB device there are a few options. Since we'd need software that supports full transport streams and HVR1600 QAM, I think there are very few options. The only one of I can think of is tsreader, but unfortunately you need the paid version since the free one cant recording transport streams.

No, but it does need to be pretty big. A 200MB+ is ideal.

Have you tried receiving these channels over the air instead of from the cable? Since it looks like you're recording network TV they're probably available OTA. You'll need some kind of antenna depending on how far you are from the stations and where they're located. OTA HD recording works very well for me using either a Fusion5 or Twinhan card. Also, what are you watching the recordings on?

I tried it a while back but had lots of signal issues (despite a stronger signal strength than I get with cable). There are also a few channels I can't get over the air, though none of them would be a huge loss.

Now that I have a signal amplifier, I may give the antenna another try when I can find the time to experiment. It seems unfortunate to have to hook up the antenna when I've got the signals coming in directly from the cable.

It appears anything I record on the CBS digital station ends up out of sync.

I tried watching the station "live", but I'm not getting ANY audio on any of the digital stations? I do get audio on the analog stations.

At first you mentioned thinking only one show was the culprit, and I have indeed gotten that for two weeks now when recording "Back to You". (That new show that's supposed to be a news comedy, and I guess sort of is a comedy maybe.)

Looks like something with the audio processing, and it stutters. I don't know if the show does only broadcast in stereo, but that's all I get out of it, and multiple players/decoders having problems with even playing that, and two weeks in a row now. Various non-primetime shows are broadcast in stereo too but don't go crazy like that one does.

Pretty odd you get audio when scanning but none when watching. If you haven't, try VLC player and/or KMplayer on the recorded file. KMplayer is my new favorite player. Good stuff.

You should be able to get the ATI Mux from a trial version of PowerDVD7. I don't know if it will stick around after the 30 days are up, but that still gives you 30 days to test. I put PowerDVD on the other day, switched to ATI Mux, and from what I can tell my massive out-of-synch problems are now gone. It's been a short test period, but looks good so far.

No, PowerDVD doesnt come with a mux. A mux is only required for software that recordings or makes video files, not player software (and if it did come with one, Cyberlink the maker of PowerDVD would supply the Cyberlink mux, not the ATI mux).

Ah, I must have gotten it from the Ati Avivo download then. I installed both around the same time. Was thinking Avivo only installed the ATI decoder, but it installing both the decoder and the mux makes more sense.

And if Avivo didn't install the mux, then I don't know what the heck I installed to get the mux. :p

Watching today's recordings now, another day of no audio/video out of sync using the Ati mux. That mux is so good even dubbed kung-fu movies are in sync!
