i have bought this card and am trying to figure out how to get clear qam working, this program was suggested by a friend, but they like me can not figure out how to set up the card in the config. any ideas or help? thanks.

Is there any software out there that will allow me to do everything?

Not like GBPVR, but this will let you record on the analog side.

Then setup a capture source for the "Pinnacle PCTV HD (QAM)" card.

well i guess i really don't know what i am doing, i got this to digital channel mapping, im not sure if this is the same as finding channels or what, but it said that it found no channels...

edit: by the way i do appreciate the help, its always awesome to see a net community willing to help out others

i just rescanned mapping and it appears to have picked up some digital music channels or something, no video just sound

Are you sure your broadcaster is transmitting clear QAM channels? ie, does any other software find the channels you're hoping to find in GB-PVR?

If you'rejust getting audio with no video, are you sure you've got a HD capable MPEG2 video decoder installed?

in vista media center and in the pinnacle software i recieve the ota hd signal loud and clear in hd.(so i am assuming i have an hd capable mpeg2 video decoder, i can record it in hd also...) and charter in st. louis does transmit clear qam, i had a tv with it working until i had to sell it do to money issues.

GB-PVR wouldnt normally list audio only channels, which makes me thing you must be finding real video channels, but something is stopping you from viewing the video side of things - which I think can only be video decoder related??

What video decoder do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? Do leave it on the 'system default' setting.

i just scanned it again same channels 101.1(000(AC3)), 101.2(000(AC3)), 101.3(000(AC3)) and this time i saw video and sound, when i tried clicking on 101.2 the program froze

edit: i'm guessing i just dont understand how the channel mapping works, especially since i don't have my friend here now to help me, so im basically just trial and erroring it for now.

edit again: now it appears to be pulling up a boat load of channels except i dont really know what i did different this time. although it is still scanning...
it appears that it is taking everything 1-138 seeing it as channel and adding 3 subchannels, although it is only on channel 18 now
