Care to name a few of these things? Wink
- faster skipping in stream client mode.
- some sort of notification of that the tuner currently being used is about to be used for a recording (rather than just dropping back to the menu)
- better dynamic resolution of some conflicts that can occur
... and a few other little things like this that bug me, but I dont have time to address at the moment

possibility to use capturecards in other computers than the main PVR server would be good

- especially if could check whether some computer is down and then redirect where to record - including possibility for me to set a service time for a specific machine - for upgrades etc
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

ReplayTV 50xx Pro's
1. Lets you record all shows by category, actor, keyword, etc.
2. It also lets you find more instances of a show based off one that is already recorded.
3. It also lets you control another system and watch it's recorded shows from a system that has a tuner and its own recordings within a network.
4. It allows shows to be categorized as you like (Mine are Comedy, Docu, Drama, Sports, Saved, Wife, Daughter, Son.)
5. Slow-motion playback. I really like this for sports.
6. Official password protection of any specific parental rating. (it has a problem though)

ReplayTV Con's
1. Only plays recorded or live content. ie, no Divx, Xvid, etc.
2. One tuner per system.
3. No integrated DVD player.
4. Can't save buffered TV to a recording file.
5. No allowance for third-party plugins. For me that means no weather info.
6. No ATSC or QAM support.

You can probably emulate something like this with the movie wiz plug-in although after the fact.

Also TV listings 2 allows you to have as many guide structures of whatever channels you choose - its awesome for cable bloat. I have one for HDTV, locals, Movies and favorites but you could have a guide for each of your family members

I for one would like to see a few simple things:
* change guide structure (Channels and Hours shown) without rooting through XML files (hopefully albertio will do this in TV listings2)
* fuller mouse support again (I know its on the way :0) with options for right click as well

Myth TV has the ability to teach you Linux. It will also teach you how to search for drivers on Google and to shamelessly beg strangers for help.

I read a great post on how to get Linux help - the key was never ask for help cause you'll get the RTFM responses above or no response at all. Its all about politely phrasing your question with the right grammar -- Simply go to a forum and say Windows is better than Linux because it has the ability to do X and Linux can't.

Within a few minutes of posting you will have hundreds of responses of how to do the same thing with Linux :0)
