someone else made a start up batch instead of using pvrx2.exe which stopped this happening i havent got around to using it yet as once its running i have no real need to hit the start key again

i have the same "trouble".

Okay, I don't know how I did it, but for some reason when the program turns on now it's not automatically selected. So, I have to go to my mouse and click on it which is a little annoying. Is there another command line I needed to select?

there are a couple of things you could try
hip prefernces/alternate input
i have use with keyboard selected
send command to last selected device (you could also try unique keys)

i also have the hip control key set to the red button on my remote so if it does lose focus you press that then #1 and the focus is back where it should be
(only happens if i have been screwing with something i shouldnt be)

Hmmh.... I'm having the exact same double tap issue, and switching to Hauppauge in Config didn't fix it for me. Same scenario, though. HIP with MCE remote.

Okay, just got it to work without double tapping. I think that it was sending a code to GBPVR then sending a universal code. At least, that's what I think was happening, but it's probably wrong.

However, no matter what specifically caused the problem, it was fixed by selecting a check box labeled "unique keys" in HIP's Alternate Input tab. I guess it's to prevent the same key doing the same thing twice.

the thing is hip does not need to be loaded with the normal keys as gbpvr already does this without hip

i also have the * key mapped to aspect ratio

What keys are not supported in GB-PVR native Hauppauge MCE remote?

I'm curious because I'd love to get the aspect ratio function loaded on my remote.

I also can't figure out how to get HIP to select PVRX2.EXE for the desktop, not the MediaMVP process, but I guess that's another issue.

Someone has been hard at work on the Wiki since I installed my Hauppauge MCE remote! (Circa Feb 2007.) That whole section is new to me.

Anyway, the screen captures are very welcome and will let me try new avenues of experimentation. But I'm afraid they won't solve my PVRX2.exe problem since that appears to be an internal Windows task identification issue. Last time I tried to fix it I ended up down in the bowels of HIP configuration, fiddling with Class IDs. What I got working with GBPVR.exe did not work with PVRX2.exe, so I gave up. I still have to use my keyboard to fire up PVRX2 as a result.

Thanks again!

Okay. My problem is not fixed. I am still getting double tap issues, but I know definitively why, now. It seems that no matter what I set GBPVR to accept or HIP to send, the remote is applying keyboard input to windows. So, when HIP tells GBPVR to "select" and when the keystoke "Enter" happens at the same time, I get a "select" twice.

Does anyone know a really elegant way around this? I know I can just disable all of the HIP commands for things that already have keyboard commands, but is there a simpler way? Say like prevent GBPVR from accepting keyboard input? Or, does HIP have some way around this?
