Yes my config is set to live preview. I'm using gbpvr 1.1.5 in pvrx2 mode. VR9 custom. Direct Show settings to vmr9** (renderless) as i read subtitles now and then. Using cyberlink CLVSD.ax decoder and Cyberlink THMpgMux(5.0.0.2022).ax mux.
I'm tolerating the changeovers by setting live tv preplay delay at 250ms which in reality is more like 2500ms. I don't know what it is set to 500ms to start?
However with timeshift mode I can't get the mini guide on screen and if i'm recording two channels I can't watch another. I think its possible with this novat500 card. I should add this is currently the only flaw in the system and everything is working great. once I get this sorted I'm ready to ghost the system and make sure it doesn't pack up again.
Incidentally in time shift mode do I risk my disk space running out ?

According to your logs it is doing live preview mod. There is no recording (aka timeshift) going on in these logs.

How long are you channel changes taking?

Hi Sub, it's behaving partly like it's in time-shift. The recording service in the systray turns green as during recording every time I hit 'Live TV'. However, it's not allowing me to rewind or forward through the picture as in time shift. Then again it doesn't show the mini tv guide when I press guide button as it used to. I intuitively attributed this to time-shift? Can this a corrected by a little tweak of some setting in config.xml? I know I have mapped my Hauppauge 45-button remote properly as it works on other screens. Lastly the Live-TV preplay delay is actually working to reduce the time of changeovers which I wouldn't expect judging by other people moaning about time shifting. This all leaves me with the confusion of what to really expect. If it is really Live TV I should be getting the mini guide at least. I can probably do with not being able to watch Live TV if two shows are simultaneously recording. I thought that perhaps it might be filter woes again, but I have left direct show and ffdshow settings default except subtitles-on in ffdshow and hali VSfilter (vobsub) to on which allows me to see subtitles while in moviewiz for avi and mkv files respectively. Any other suggestions?

That is normal. It turns green when a capture device is in use (including live preview mode live tv)

Yep.

What happens when you press F1 on the keyboard? Are you using the default 'Blue' skin or something else? If something else then try the blue skin.

According to your logs you're definitely in live preview mode.

Many thanks Sub. Yes I understand now. I've always used full screen straight from install stage and only saw recordings come on while out of gbpvr so it seemed like it was recording. Well the picture quality with those codes look great so I'm glad you said it's normal. Yes I'm sticking with blue. Right now I'm afraid to play with skins especially those with hefty databases. your little help with the keyboard shortcut helped me edit the irremote.ini for the missing button. All working. Time for a clean up and ghost, incase I get bored and break it again Wink
