ISO's work fine when played on the Popcorn Hour via MovieWiz. Would love to have VIDEO_TS folders to play as well. I have about 200+ movies in that format and dread converting to ISO.

I Often use DVDShrink to rip DVDs but I also use ImgBurn.
ImgBurn do not shrink but can rip to many image formats as well as to folders. And as the name says it is really good for burning images to disc.

I have about 200 ISOs and avi's, spread around on different network resources.
MovieWiz keeps them all sorted.

I can't get GBPVR to play my iso files. Is there something I should do that I didn't?

If you are talking DVD iso's on your PCH and you have tried these instructions http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=8 you probably should open a thread here http://forums.gbpvr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=39 If it is a VIDEO_TS problem on your PCH that is for JavaWiz. Finally if is just problem with DVD iso's in GBPVR in general you should start with a forum search.

Hi JW,

Is there a way to define which player MW uses to play DVD's? It seems to always uses the less powerful standard player.
Dedicated XP SP2 + GB-PVR 1.2.13
Gigabyte GA EP45-DS3L, Q6600 processor, 2GB RAM, SPDIF optical audio
Sapphire ATI HD4850 GDDR3 512MB PCI-E
DVico Digital Tuner
4TB local storage, Pioneer 107 DVD+/-RW via USB
Logitech 785 remote control, Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse
Antec Sonata II case & PSU
Sony 40in X2000 Bravia LCD, Panasonic 5.1 surround sound

I don't think so. I'll try and take a look tonight, and if possible allow for this.

To be clear, you are talking about DVD's ripped to disk with the DVD file structure, right?

Thanks JW.

This is for DVD's in a video_ts directory.

Maybe if I convert them to ISO I can nominate a specific player?

Cheers,
Dan

You can already do this. In MovieWiz config program:'
  • Select the External Players tab
  • Select (or define) the player of choice
  • In types of files list, select .dvd
  • Click save
That's it. Now in the plugin, you can play the DVD directory with your desired player.

Also, .iso is in the list and can be treated the same way.

In Movie Wizard, if I use the external player option in Vista 64 and launch windows media player 64 bit (WMP64) does that mean it will be running the movies in the 64 bit player using 64 bit codec?

It should use the player you define, as far as what codecs are used, not sure, that is a function of the player (WMP64).
